  • I am having trouble now with starting my explorer. I replaced the starter and put a new one in from a 93. Four days later i went to start it and it made weird noises so i turned ignition off and pulled the key out. My explorer kept trying to start..? finally stopped and then i was able to start my explorer. The next day the same thing only when i went to turn it off, it kept running eventually stopped. By this time a wire on the starter started to smoke. Fixed that. Now it is like i have no power at all, lights and interior and radio all work, it does not want to turn over.

I have been told it could be my ignition switch under the steering wheel, alittle white box has wires and to do something with one of the wires. This will tell me if it is the starter? I have also been told that this new starter has been fryed, that if I want I can refurbish it? The previous owner does not have the receipt or i would just replace the starter again! Why did this happen?
