I was also wondering what to do with all the wires and such that are under the carpet?

i removed mine, after a few swampings gettin stuck it got nasty, i herculined mine, and where the wires run i built little steel channels for the wires to run under so they wouldn't get stepped on, like little sheilds, just remove all the floor plugs while you do it then reinstall them when your done

just clean up the floor really well so you get a good bond with whatever you use

thanks, it looks good, any other opinions or pics? how does it hold up? what is the grey paint? is it sone type of primer?

yeah it was primer, i checked with herculiner (their site) and it stated that i could lay primer down frist and it will still hold, awesome when i get the interior wet
Clicky
, makes it real nice to clean and drain, doesn't stink or stain, and its held up great, had it on their about 3 months now with no problems thus far

Hey CheapThrillEX, nice to see someone doing things the right way!

i haven't noticed a difference in the sound, my tires, engine etc... is just so noisy as it is

I did the Walmart spray on version. Cat Pee ruined my carpet and back seats (Cat had UTI, promting a trip to the ER) I didnt have that much wiring, but I only have a sport with very little options. Other than a little more noise, I love it.

I ripped the carpet outta mine while I was doing my A4LD to M5OD swap and I love it so far. I still need to buy some herculiner though because right now that floor is hella slippery lol

I did mine with herculiner. Havent gotten to test it yet though. I kept all the interior plastic to hide the wires and put wire loom over anything still exposed to protect them.

makes for a lovely smell for a few days

those last few pics are inspiring..though my interior is in great shape, and i gotta do this on my cj befor i bother with the sploder..lol..but anyway..i would route all of the wiring to the sides of the body (away from cetner as to not trip over it) and jus cover it with a wire "loom" or "conduit" preferably the metal kind, itll hold up better, and jus deal with teh "unsitelyness"

on mine in frt of the rear seats i had a loom runing left to right across the truck and the wiring for the t-case motor as well, really can't shove them to the side, i used steel to protect the wiring, "unsitelyness" only matters when you care, i don't, its about function before appearance, but my ex is real beat up which is why i don't care, if i was to do this to my wifes EX then your right i would do it a different way, and make it look cleaner and better similar to how SuRrEaLNJ did his

overall do you think this is a good mod to add? I really like the pics and the way it looks.

I had a jeep cj8 that I rhinolined it inside and out. Its kinda rough for an everyday driver, especially when you have to get up under the dash to work on stuff and the rhinoliner is grinding off your skin:thumbsup:

This looks awesome, i think i am going to give it a try this coming winter

Don't over look the effect the rug and insulation has on the amount of noise and heat through the floor. You'll be surprised at how hot the floor around the transmission tunnel and the passenger compartment over the exhaust gets.

Yep. Tranny tunnel gets really hot. I ran without carpet, and I had the tranny hump access panel off for a while (I was repairing the vacuum modulator). Anyway...it was a heat blast coming up from the trans, even driving to the store and back for a parts run...5 minute drive.
