Well after my trip Moab, I have decided to lift my ST a little more. I am going to install a 3" body lift now, so I can put 35"-36" tires under it. But I really want to upgrade the brakes as well. Does anyone have any knowledge with adding larger diameter rotors and calipers to a ST? For some reason I was under the impression that to add larger brakes I would have to swap out the ST knuckles for Ranger knuckles.

Thanks,
Chad

I'm pretty sure a 2002 already has the bigger front brakes. I'm also pretty sure that Rangers got bigger disc brakes in 2001. Stainless Steel Brakes or Baer might make bigger rotors, I don't know. Powerslot rotors with ceramic or EBC Green Stuff or Hawk pads should make a big improvement. Braided stainless brake lines from Earl's or Russell will help too (unless you already put those on because of the lift). Don't fall for drilled rotors though, they often crack in street use. Just get slotted.

Hello Chad, you already have the best factory brakes available, and there are no aftermarket upgrades available. Others will give opinions on brake pads and rotors, those are your general options. I custom built brackets to mount bigger rotors and calipers, with SS lines. Unless you do something custom like mine, you have just about all you can get now.
I haven't called my machinist to see if he finished the two extra pairs of brackets that I wanted. I will eventually make available two extra sets of parts.

Look around and see what is and isn't available, you should see why I built my own. Good luck,

Thanks guys, I put slotted rotors on it a couple years ago. I probably need to get new rotors and then I will add SS brake lines and hawk pads.
