Hello everyone, first post here, but I've been a member lurking here for a while. Anyway...

I've run into the need to install a CB radio in my ride. I have a 2001 Explorer Limited (leather everything, etc etc) and I just cant figure out a good/best place to put it. Any ideas?

i put mine next to the center consol so that the face is just sticking above it..ill see if i can dig up a pic.

I know that most people will say "WTF" to where I put mine but I took out my vents above the radio and put it in there, I built a wood frame around it to keep it tight...I haven't finalized the frame, just prototype so I haven't snapped pics but I will tomorrow to give you an idea...

Pic is of Paraphoe's gen. I mounted mine the same way. As long as your CB isn't huge, its a very convenient install, and won't take more than 30 minutes.

Here is a Semi-Close up...You can't tell to well that, that is pine around the Cb but it is...That is just my 15 min mount...I plan to go back with a harder wood such as oak and make it fit better and form it to match the flat sides of the cb and the rounded sides of the radio faceplate and paint it black or something....

and a bit farther back,(dont mind the pink beads, they are from the GF)

That looks really nice, plus you are lucky having the digital ac panel!

Yeah, right now the radio is centered horizontally, but not vertically as you can see...I am not sure If I want to have it how it is or if I am going to center it vertically. I still need to block off the duct to the old vents, I still have my floor and defrost and air comes out of the side vents (like close to the windows/armrest)...but right now my main panel/vent duct is just working as a huge fan to cool or heat my radio/cb :p:
