had my transmission out an figured now was a good a time as any to pull my pump an sending unit from tank.
ive only had the used one i got from a bone yard for a yr an a half lol :)
as expected brass float in mine had a hole an is paper thin surprized they could even make it outa the factory an still work what a joke.
found out my sending unit was ok but since i had the newer used peice id use that , just scraped up a solid round type float at bone yard made a little notch with my dremil tool an shazamm a working fuel gauge first time since ive owned trk  see pics below

Nice remember what vehicle that new float came outta? i need to do this too since when i fill the tank it will read 3/4 or less. have never seen it read full since i have had the truck:thumbsup:

no cant tell what that float came out of . the tanks were all in a pile waiting to be crushed, if i had to guess id say maybe a grand mark eee. i just looked for a tank with same style of hold down ring an got lucky first one i opened had this round one :)
i keep the hold down ring ,an good thing i did when i dropped my tank i about peeled mine off with my fingers
any one that needs a good sender unit let me know just needs some time in a blast cabinet to clean up top to nock off the rust an a float an you are good

i thk i remmember reading that brook when i first found e.f. site last yr . my local ford guy couldnt find the part had them try different yrs models etc. found new dorman brand senders with pump at auto zone for 105 bucks put im to stuburn to give in an buy new ohh an the other 85 percent of the time im just to poor :)))

Just checked Fast Parts Network searched by part number and it came up:thumbsup:

P/N COAZ-9202-B
MSRP 6.36 thier price 5.04:D

well after 10 min i found part their at fast part they dont say if its brass or ?? foam style .dont know what i do wrong on that site but ive deleted it of my favorite site list searching is so messed up their or is it me ???

Well your right it does'nt say what material the float is

I had no problems at all searching there when i looked up the float it took less than 2 mins to find it

probably me then cant teach this old dog new tricks lol site kept asking for model an info before it would search then id get same list of parts i found it some how do i have to have an account to get to a better search page their or just to buy stuff ??

I don't have an account with them. From their home page i clicked on parts catalog and then I entered the part number in where it says search by part number or keyword and in the box next to it i selected FORD and then press search and viola up came the price for the float.
