ok so i have a lot of stuff i've gotten ideas for things to do with my explorer recently(most of them from this EXTREMELY helpful website) and they will require switches unfortunately i want all my switches to be together and can't find anywhere to put them all together (about six or seven of them)

i have seen this amazing switch cluster but i want to keep my little miniature storage holes free (i use them quite often) so does anybody have any idea as to where i could put them?

('96 sport by the way)

Glove compartment?

good idea, anybody else got any others....steventadams yours is good but i would like something more accessible if i can't think of anything else, i'll definitley do that

Your overhead console if you have one.

You could run a single din stereo, and then run a bank of switchs under/over the stereo. Kinda like this, but without the CB.;)

that's amazing where you put that one single switch but i really like my dash with the clean look it has now, sorry....wow i'm really stubborn aren't i?

Here is a better newer pic of it now...

I have mine where my knee sits on the center console. I put a round rocker switch in there for my Fire Dept Emergency Lights.

If you have the ash tray in the floor console, you can hide four or five flat rocker switches in there if you play your cards right. I have the four switches I use the most in there. I bolted a project box to the black plastic liner of the center console that houses my other switches and a few extra cigarette-lighter type outlets. I like it so far, and the best part is everything is hidden when you don't need to use it. I wish I didn't have so many switches, but I'm obsessed with lights and have everything under the sun in my truck.

in my 99 explorer i have my switches in the same place that the auxilary 12v power outlet is on the passenger side, but on the drivers side.

I have 4 switches there, 2 of them are large toggles, and 2 are small toggles.

i had thought about puttin a switch for roof lights in the overhead console where the garage door clicker goes since i dont park in the garage

Run em on the right hand side of your steering wheel. sorta like the info buttons on the 05 cobalts. just underneath your gauges.

It's been a while and idk if u have been keeping up with this but I thought of a good idea that would work out pretty nicely if u wanted to hide ur stuff. on the console between the cupholers and the lil CD holder thing tehres the coin holder thing an anyways u could put a switch pod in there plus you can run all of your wiring from right next to your cupholders.

i already have plan....i'm using the asthray....thanks for all the input though

Im gunna bump this with a thought I had on my own, want to know if its feasable... I was thinking about mounting flip switches on the driver side windshield frame

id make a switchplate for the inside of my center console, since its just junk and garbo in there, id add a nice power inverter hardwired/mounted too.
