I want a set of stock, OEM 15" Explorer / Ranger wheels for my horse trailer. Anybody got a set in So-Cal?

Those 17's that Stic-O got would look pretty cool too, but I don't think they would fit.

What size rims are on the trailer now? If they are 14" with 5 on 4.5 I could use two of them for spares for my flat bed.

what size wheels are on the trailer now? 5 on 4.5 or 5 on 5.5

I have 3 15 5 on 4.5 1 odd bird, and a set of 4 5 on 5.5 all 15's

I have a set of 4 with the original tires and center caps, they're up in Van Nuys. They're all in good condition, just been sitting for about 5 years. These are the ones:

Its got four old rusty 15 inch American Racing chrome rims. I think the bolt pattern is the same as the Explorer, but I will find out for sure tomorrow.

Mounty, how much tread is left on those tires?
I had a thought, I wonder if Explorer rims would clear the 10" brake drums. They should if they can clear disk brakes, right?

Is the set of four aluminum with good tires? I need new hubs, so I can always change out the bolt pattern. It has #3500 axles on the trailer.

I really can't remember, i'll have my dad check for you tomorrow. On second thought, I think they had about 55,000 miles on them when my truck was lifted, but i'm not sure how many miles those tires are rated for.

Looking online for reviews, some people have gotten upwards of 75,000 miles out of them, they're bfg long trails. But still, i'll get back to you tomorrow.

the 5 on 5.5 are off a sami and are steel wagon wheels white currently tires are junk

The tires are in ok shape overall, 2 are slightly worn on the inside edge, the other two are good, and they have a decent amount of tread left. Size is 235/75.

Well, I have the same bolt pattern, and the same sized rims on there right now. Rusty rims with cracked and worn tires. I will send you a PM

Email with pics sent.

Brian...I'll give you my old 17's from my F-150....But I don't think they will do you any good:( They are 6x135, which only comes on 150's and Expo's :thumbdwn: Hense why there still collecting dust in my garage:rolleyes:

Besides....I don't think they make trailer tires in 17":(

I got enough junk in my yard already.:D
I made a deal with (Mounty71) Matt for his OEM rims/tires. 235/75/15 is the size tire that is currenty rotting away on the rusty horse trailer rims (same as stock Explorer/Ranger/Mounty). They do make 17" trailer tires, but they are very expensive. Most horse people recommend that you put radial light truck tires on horse trailers for the smooth ride. Which works out fine, cause that is what Matt has. And, getting the whole set saves me a bunch of cash, and I can salvage the best two old tires for spares. I will end up with two spares and a set of four decent tires with aluminum wheels for the price of 1.5 trailer tires.:p:
And.............the more cash I save on this project, the sooner I can do my SAS.

I have the wheels and tires in my possession now, when's a good time to bring them over Colin?

I finally got them from Bill's place tonight. They are going to be perfect for what I want. Tires should last years on a horse trailer. Rims look nice and well cared for. Thanks Matt! Thanks Colin! Thanks Bill!

No problem, they've sat unused for the last 5 years or so, glad they're going to good use.
