Most places that have bulbs have a book or computer to look it up, but I did the legwork for you, its a 194 series bulb.

Thanks Brother..you saved me a trip; I have 194's in stock.

Good luck geting the gauge cluster out. I just did it yesterday to replace all the blubs that light it up at night. It was a PITA!!!!

Its actually not hard at all, should take you 15-20 minutes.
Its a good idea to wipe it all down before you put it back in :)

INH..not sure what yourtruck takes, but my switch does not take the 194. It's a long slender bulb with a green rubber cap on it, twist in or out with a slotted screwdriver.

Looks like a Ford only item for sure...

Wierd, thats what Autozone said it was for the high bean indicator lamp. Should be the same lamp..

Sounds like the bulb used in the Headlight switch...

i had to change that one but instead of going to the dealer, I replaced just the bulb with one from RadioShack (catalog # 272-1092)

If you're careful you might be able to remove the colored cap from the current bulb and put it on the new one. If not, you'll have to color the bulb some other way. I used some glass paint from a crafts store. It came out uneven but I didn't have all day. If I were to do this again, I'd prep the bulb first with the paint before installation.

I agree on the Radio Shack bulb. That bulb will work in all of your switches, as well as the headlamp switch.

I should have made it more clear, it's the light in the 4X4 switch that is gone, not the dash indicator light. Oddball light so I think I will grab a few spares next trip to the wrecker. Just noticed my headlight switch light is gone too; and I just had the dash apart to change the guage bulbs....

Here is the bulb:
