I just replaced the trans in my 2000 explorer with a used unit. I filled it with a gallon of fluid and started the truck took it through all the gears no movement of the tires in any gear. I look under the truck and its pumping the fresh fluid out on the ground from the vent. Any Ideas?

the funnel was still full as the motor was running. prob ran for 5 min and it would only take as much as it was pumping out.

there was no fluid in the pan. so i added a gallon. started the truck and started adding some more when the fluid stopped going in(funnel still full). I put it through all the gears and got no tire movement. looked under the truck to find about 2 qts on the ground. went back to my funnel it was about 1 qt down but still had some in it and the dip stick was still full.

Check the pressure of the transmission, and the EPC pressure. It's possible that the filter or the cooler might be blocked. The valve body has a thermostatic valve for circulating fluid into the cooler when it reaches a normal operating temperature. A cold valve won't open.

I dont think the cooler is blocked but will check. where do i check the pressure and what should it be
