4th Gen Explorer Pictures

Very nice! Now that you broke your bumper it looks about time to have a winch bumper fabbed...
Still, very impressive.

Already in the works! My friend and I have been designing one and I just got a welder and he is going to teach me how to weld. If everything works out I plan to start making bumpers and roof racks and stuff of that nature for our 4th gens. I have also been thinking of how to make portals work on the independent suspension.

Oh you know it!!!! If it has it...I use it, well except cruise control. Man let me tell you, if you know someone with a power stroke with mud tires and you have some mud terrians hook up to them on the dirt and they will shut up and drive away with their tial between their legs!! 4 low about 2k rpm with 255 bfg muds and now with 285 maxxis bighorns they won't pull you.

My lord... your pretty much my hero right now. Good luck with all that! We need us some UCAs and a real lift - you might also want to look into developing a diff drop kit so we can lift, but not worry about the CVs going through the frame.

Yep thought of that too. Thought about cutting the bottom of that hole and welding plates on the top for a not so extreme lift if people wanted that. I have ideas just need time and money. i do want input and ideas

Oh and what are UCAs? I don't know that one.

Really? Got any pics? Just to let you know they maxxis bighorns...but size is right lol Glad to know more people are lifting 4th gens. Now there one that lives around where I work.

UCAs are upper control arms. Those U/V shaped deallys near the back/top side of your tires.
Here's a quick picture I found:

There's lots of people/companies that make custom UCAs for lifted 4Runners, FJs, Libertys, Grand Cherokees, etc. (different UCAs for each vehicle though, they're not one size fits all).
Here's some random links for examples of stuff: Suspension parts for 03+ 4Runners, UCAs for lifted WKs

BTW - What kind of lift do you have? Just Truxxx?

Yeah, I thought as much from a couple of those shots, but I thought it might've been just weird camera angle or something. I just wanted a definitive answer.

I think the two tone seats look really good on the Ironman Version. Of course the rest looks good too. Nice looking Explorer.

Thanks for the kind words. Yea, except the 3rd row seat isn't, its jus plain o black lol. I finally picked it up today though. Really nice ride. But there IS definitely a lot more plastic :( way more than my 96

The last few are with both body and truxx. 315s fit but can't turn the tires, like not at all.

No he big time has a body lift. Look how low the frame is

Go big or go home, I have both. Look at the last few.

BTW Thats a fine X you got there, too bad your on the other coast. I am so ready to hit some trails. Speaking of which, does anyone live in the north carolina virginia area? I want to get people together and start some off road trips going.

Yea I agree that it looks better. Why did you get rid of the brush guard? If gas wasn't so high (for no reason!, I might ad) I'd drive over there. Man, I want an oil derek in my back yard lol

Yeah, but then you need a refinery too and I don't know about Virginia's oil deposits (or possible lack there of, but it's in the right spot for swamps, etc....blah blah blah lots of geology talk that nobody wants me to talk about.....).
