I'm kinda disappointed @ the Explorer...here's the story...I get a favor from mom to take her to the mall, and its no problem for me. So here we are in a packed NJ mall with people that got money to burn, and others who want to destroy their credit. There was actually one incident where I recorded this ******** in a 4 runner taking a parking spot from this girl with her kids..in a min-van...so I see these groups of fellow 4x4 trucks parked on the snow mounds...simple right? So....I pull the K turn and back up the mound with 4wd on already...so thennnnnn....I go to fix my parking and discover that only the two wheels in the front are moving...keep in mind 4x4 IS ON.....so while the tired are spinning, I have NO motion in the two rear tires....so 20 mins and one guy tryna help, I ask security...which was a waste of time because they identified pushing a car out "dangerous."...are you serious? So he gives me a number to a tow truck..-_- which now I have to pay 50 dollars so the guy can move me 10 feet...but after that ordeal..I need some opinions as to how I can address this 4wd issue...you think lockers would do the trick??

So your 2 front wheels were spinning and the 2 back wheels remained motionless?

The wheels in the back didn't even flinch, both the front was going, I had it in 4x4 and 4x4 Low, and in automatic 4x4, I wished it was a 2wd so I could at least get some traction to the back..but it was soo wierd!

Ok so that's a 3.73 limited slip. Next time you get a chance jack up the back end of the truck, put in neutral, and make sure the parking brake is off. Spin each tire by hand and make sure the other side turns in the same direction and there isn't too much resistance. Just to check to make sure it's working properly and all.

Ok, that's the next step, I hope I'm not leaking fluids for the 4wd though, but this weekend I have to get it checked out. But with the limited slip, the power shouldve went to one of the rear wheels at least right?

Not at all....it was shocking, and the wheel on the right side was a bit higher in elevation and most of the pressure was on the left side..but that didn't make a difference cause only two wheels was moving
