So ive been looking at all these diff explorers without there roofracks and its starting to look pretty good... I want to hear some opinions..:thumbdwn:
the more i see explorers without racks, the more i like the idea lol. i'm taking mine off in the summer. just keeping it on now in case i need to use my friends thule for a snowboard trip
I'm taking mine off of my Aviator. It's too chromy for me, but I'm going for the street scene vibe.
I saw a thread on how to take them off, and know how it should come off logically, but I couldn't figure out how to get the end caps off (without damaging them). But I haven't tried a new plastic trim panel removal kit on them yet.
Yeah I cant stand alot of chrome too, and just take a big flathead and manhandle em. Idk how people break them, when I took the rack off to paint I ripped em off lol.
I wouldn't be able to function with out mine. Its used all the time. i really need a truck but can only afford the ex so the roof serves as a truck bed to some extent.... But if your not using it I guess theres no reason to keep it. Supposedly it saves gas to take it off but I don't see how that is possible when its so skinny compared to the rest of the truck that has to push all that air when driving.
Yeah id totally keep it if I used it, and its fairly simple to take on and off so if I ever want to add a roof rack or anything like that it wont be hard at all
I used to... It was a 22' SeaRay CC that I overhauled. I really liked it, but I didn't really fit in it. Teejay has met me in person and can tell you, I'm not a little guy. My ex-wife told me if I had a boat it had to have a cabin. Now that she's an EX-wife, I've got a 26' Cape Horn open fisherman.
I work for RadioShack as a corporate trainer. I train and assist all their district and store managers in the Southeast US. It pays really well, but unfortunately I got a little too used to a cushy lifestyle and now kinda live paycheck to paycheck. Let me tell you, mortgages, car payments, boat payments, 2 1/2 year olds and insurance for all of the above gets pretty expensive. Oh and lets not forget college, I started my masters this semester.
And sorry to hijack your thread with all this boat talk lol.
