Drivers Seat busted recliner

Ok, so here's the problem. The drivers seat wont stay up. If I am not sitting in it, it will pull all the way forward, but as soon as you push it, it falls halfway to the back seat. I took off the side of the seat to expose the seat recliner assembly, but that's the limit of my knowledge.

Anybody know how to fix this, preferably without replacing the whole recliner assembly?

Local dealer quoted me $175 for a new assembly!

So if I understand correctly, I DO need to replace the whole thing?

Not sure- you may be able to part out and find a spring or a catch, but when they're a dime a dozen in the junkyard, I wouldn't give a dealer $180 for one...
