^^That's what I was gonna do, just looking for more options. :) Though, drilling probably will rip them out.

KBB for my 96 Explorer in NM is around 4K W 197k? wow, everything is more expensive out here...

Okay, got those crappers out. Drilled all but 2 out. (The screws were stuck inside the little roof screw threads). Had to rip those two out. Have 2 holes in my roof but gonna plug them

Went to the JY and finished retrieving some parts that I didn't get last trip. Front bumper, trim pieces, grille and headlight supports ect. Been a blast, and this week I'm planning on pulling the transmission and putting a 5R55E in. We'll see how it goes, will keep you guys updated as well since you love build threads...:)

Can't wait to see!

Here are a couple pictures of the updated front. Also see the last picture, of what the busted one looked like. Also a picture of my Lexus SC400...my second vehicle and fav...(no offense SE) :)

Lol in NM vehicles are like gold!!! I live in farmington and anything used is trash and overpriced here.

That's for sure, I was recently stationed in Clovis and junk yards were far and few between.

Just a quick question, I know there is a fix...the drivers side front panel is bent towards the drivers door. It overlaps the other panel. Sure enough, I looked underneath the Explorer and the fender mounting bracket and pinch welds were smashed really bad. Is there a known fix for this?
Thankls

Can yo get a pic of it? And do you mean the fender is bent towards the door? Kinda confused as to what your asking

Hey RyansX: This is the identical problem I am experiencing. Except, my situation is a little more severe...THIS IS NOT MY EXPLORER!!!

I saw this thread on here, but I don't fully understand how un bending the bracket beneath the rocker panel will create the fender to pull back where it is designed to go...

Yeah I'm in the same boat as you, when I open my door it pops on the fender. Doesn't effect anything but it bothers me that it happens. It actually started doing that after I replaced my front end also

My door doesn't catch on the fender it's so far out...

Got the Grille mount, grille, and some headlights on today. Gonna finish the entire front end and snap some pictures for you guys W the before and after. Looks so much better already!

In the mere future, I'll also need some advice on some rear body damage. But not to that yet...

Here is the finished front end, for the most part at least. Look better? It better. :)

I also got the front valance underneath the bumper. Replaced the grille support, headlight, headlight mount(s), grille, front bumper, (kept the top trim), and added the front valance.

What do you guys think?

Looks great man! Now for a new front bumper!

That IS a new front bumper...:( You mean the bumper cover? Because All that was at the junkyard was crapped up bumper covers. As for the bumper, I payed $45.00 for and it is worth it IMO. NEXT, either the tranny swap (whenever NICE59FORDF100 responds (he is on and he isn't responding) or a new headliner. Whichever occurs first, I'll keep this thread updated. Appreciate you watching my build thread! :D Thank you!

You hit the nail on the head, this Explorer IS a piece of crap, but it will be really nice in about a month or so. (hopefully) Not many things to do to it left, rear body work, interior headliner, and transmission replacement/swap (nicefordf100 STILL hasn't responded...:( ) There is also small cosmetic stuff like a gauge, roof rack, knob, ect. Should be lookin' perrty very soon!

I fixed the "hanging outward" front drivers side fender, which is one of the very popular problems that happens with the Ford Explorer when a Wal Mart kid jacks it up in the wrong area. I could show you how I fixed it...not perfect, but much better.

all I used was A crowbar, needle nose pliers, locking pliers, and an 8mm socket and 1/2 inch drive with adapter socket wrench.

Will post up some before and after pictures of it, (since this IS a before and after sub-forum).
