01strunner- Great job man. The trac looks very clean, and your 35's look small now lol. Like Rebel said- Post some up close pics of the front end when you get a chance. I can't wait to see her flex out with no sway bars.
I'd say the trackbar and sway bar work well at what they are supposed to do. The truck is solid at speed, in crosswinds and around semis. Quick disconnects and a track bar removal will be in store soon.
Well im about to tack it all up and I will get it all welded up on monday. If anyone is interested I could give all the measurements and do a couple cad drawings, if anyone wants them.
So the top plate still has to be cut. I am just mimicking the plate on mosr hitches, usually used for safety chains but I am doing it for stregnth.
Next project will be coilovers, which a friend is giving me sway away 2.0 8s and king 2.5 10s. Would the kings be strong enough/big enough for a 4 link system? I just started doing research for it. Dont know a whole lot about all the technical details but looking to learn..
My only regret is I went with a 255 85 16 (33.07x10.5) thinking a 315 75 16 (34.60x12.5)wouldn't fit should have just got the 315 as they are not much bigger and would have fit.
Finally started my SAS registry!! It's a work in progress but eventually I'll have pictures and a little more information up. If you have specific questions about it or just want to see an SAS'd Trac, here's the link: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3144522#post3144522
Shooterdude199 - yeah it's just the spindles and body lift. Had the torsion bars turned up but decided that the rougher ride wasn't worth it. Don't think anyone ever noticed that it's now sitting one inch lower.
So Kap, do you have AALs and shackles or just shackles? Im debating whether spindles and my AALs would be level. Very badass dude. On the plus side Got L.E.Ds coming for the dash switches (all plug and play) and found a supplier of the little light mouse condom things so got a matching color for the rear window control since that light is ridiculous to find. If it fails I'll have to fab an L.E.D replacement. Anyway gonna be fun.
Btw, Midnight, we were talkin about the busted ceramic ground in the 12V outlet. Could that cause stereo popping? My speakers pop every so often after that so I assume its because its ungrounded. Gonna replace it tomorrow either way.
