I got a body lift done and a few days after i noticed that when i start the truck theres a big clunk noise that i hear(I think coming from the front passenger side). It doesn't do it every time, but id say 1 out of 3 times it happens. Never happened until i got a body lift. Anyone else with this problem?

Hopefully not your AC line rubbing on the pulley. I think you would already know if that was the issue but I would make sure since that is a necessary step not included in the instructions.

I noticed this too, after my BL. Almost like a grunt after the truck cranks up. When it happens, it is louder sometimes than others. Almost, also, seems to do with outside temperature too (like it seems louder when it's really hot out).

4WheelParts guys couldn't figure it out, but suspected maybe something with the heater door?

Well i did notice that my A/C vent wasnt giving out as much pressure as before but i didnt think that would be caused by a body lift. plus i never use the A/C. Im obviously not a mechanic and dont have alot of knowledge when comes to problems with my truck so If it was a a/c line rubbing on the pulley, is that going to be a hard to fix now?

If you lay under the front end of the truck, you'll see what you see in the picture. Most people just use a zip tie (or two) for a quick fix.

By the way, my noise persisted after the zip tie(s) fix.

I would say more of a clunk with mine, almost like something is turning that hitting something in the way but it definitely is louder sometimes then others. I havent really noticed the weather change. My boyfriend is a mechanic but he hasnt had the time to take a look at it yet. Atleast if someone else has had this problem it'll be easier to find the problem (if its the same )

If you figure it out, definitely post it up here.

Mine does sound like rubbing on something rigid. It's been going on since my lift was installed around 3/2012- here's how I described it around that time-

There's a few concerns i have about my ST after the lift has been installed.

1- When I start it up, right when the engine gets going, there's a slight rub noise, about the same RPM as the engine as it's starting. Sounds alot like a quick rub with a metal tool down a ridged piece of plastic, very fast. I'll take a video to post later. Anyone else get this?

yup mine is about the same. My truck also shakes alot when idling so this noise now is just adding to the pile of problems i have with my truck. Very frustrating!

So I took a look and mine isn't rubbing (from what I can see) and it wasn't zip tied down lol

Double check all the bolts that are removed during the bodylift. Mainly the body/ bed bolts, rad support bolts/ rad drop brackets and bumper brackets, these usually need to be checked a couple hundred miles after install. Hopefully this helps, definetly ziptie the A/C line back away from the belt, it will find a way to rub if allowed.

Thanks ill get my boyfriend to take a look at that and tomorrow ill Zip tie that sucker. Thanks for all the help! Appreciate it

Yeah that's a pretty big step not included. I had the clunk and could never figure it out, then when I finally looked at that hose, the plastic cover was completely shredded. Luckily it didn't tear the hose, but it still makes the sound a little bit sometimes when starting up.
