I did the same think on my 2003 Sport...is yours peeling or rubbing off at all? I did a few light coats and they are peeling pretty bad. I think because it's a light coat instead of thick coats it's not as durable.

I like the white/black ford emblem onthe tailgate, but not a fan of that plastidipped lights. Looks flat and cloudy, especially on the headlights. Lamin-X sells a tinted film that gives it a factory smoked lense look, as well as providing protection against rock chips whereas p-dip will just chip with rock chips.

I just got the smoke Lamix for the fogs and heads. I am yet to put them on - probably later in the week. I'll keep an eye on this thread and post some pics.

Looks like my headlights if I don't wash them for a month where it's rained.

That flat look just looks bad.

Ended up going this route as the smoked look wasn't what I thought it would be. I liked the look during the day, but lost a little headlight function at night, which was a deal-breaker for me.

You would certainly loose some light. I couldnt tell if you had OEM hid or just halogens. What are you running with? I have HIDs both on heads and fogs

How did you not realize putting a translucent black on the headlights would effect light output?

C'mon give the guy a break. This is supposed to be a place to share ideas. Not every mod is to everyone's taste but doesn't need to be ridiculed. Don't like it just say so, anything more is unnecessary.

You're new to the internet, I assume.

Contribute to the post and provide opinion. Anything more is really not needed. I'm sure most members don't subscribe to see all these witty comments.

There's value here. Someone tried plastidip on headlights and didn't like the results. That's helpful. That's the goal.

Putting anything, including the tinting film, will affect light output. I wanted to see how much. And for the record I did not put black it was smoke
