So I have a 2010 Explorer that does not have the Sub woofer/amp in the back. I have added my own in the place the stock would be but there is a harness plug right around that area that is not connected to anything. My question was is that for the sub/amp that would go there AND if it is can I get a remote turn -on
out of it. Thanks... hopefully I made sense.

Here is a pic of the harness plug...

Blue wire is normally the remote amp turn on. Just tap into the radios switched power wire. Same thing

I was hoping to not to have to run a line... I should have done it the same time I ran the power. But I was hoping to use my Bass Station remote lead but the shop did'nt use it. so it was not connected to the deck.

So you're not just hooking up a cheap sub to the factory head unit? If you have an aftermarket head unit it should have a blue wire labeled remote amp turn on

Connect a voltmeter to the blue wire and see if it has 5v or 12v when you turn on the radio.

No... I had a Kicker Bass Station already installed. That already has a turn on wire that the shop didn' t hook up... the sub gives you a choice of using a remote wire or using the voltage from the high level inputs. I was going to use that wire to turn on the 4 channel amp I added until I found out it was not being used. This was after I had everything wired up. I was hoping to not have to pull the deck out again to hook up the remote. That is when I noticed an unused harness plug where the stock sub/amp would be... hence the first question I asked. But I just ran a new turn-on wire so...

One more thing and I am not familiar with your radio. My 96 has the premium sound option with the amp in the pass side wheel well area in the rear and is activated by the same blue wire. If your amp is back there, then you already have that power on signal.

That is for my radio, I don't know what you have. Just thought I'd add that.

Good luck

Factory Ford Remote on is +5V, an amp requires a +12V remote on. The signal may be too weak.
