So Austin, TX. finally had winter for 3 days in the last couple of weeks . I get in my Ex and get the dreaded clicking in the dash and no heat. As I stated in the "Quick Fix" thread , I cut an access hole to get to the door and move it from hot to cold by hand. Then read another thread later that night that stated it could be a simple stripped plastic gear in the blend door actuater and that turned out to be the problem. Had the wife to order one from "The Rock". Couple of days later I asked the wife how long was it for the part to get here and she says "Why you asking me? You ordered it". Lets skip pass the next few minutes :fire: So after a cold beer, I thought about the problem and decided to head to the bone yard instead. Picked up 2 actuaters, one from a Limited and one from a Mountaineer, took one apart got the gear out, greased and installed it in the original unit. Also the Limited had an aftermarket wood dash and console kit that I picked up. Everything looks and works perfect. And the grand total for everything ,$47.00 :D. BTW I didn't realize how much I missed just walking around a bone yard for a few hours just looking. :(

Now we need pics

Only have the phone to take pictures with, but found this on another post here that shows the workings. Simply pull off the big gear and then replace the smaller gear. The smaller gear (arrows) was missing 1/3 of it's teeth on mine causing the clicking sound. BTW I only replaced the screws in front (tightly snug with blue Loc-Tite)and left that bad boy on the backside out.

Taa Daaaa! Really gives it that Aviator Jr. look :shifty_ey. Don't think I would have bought it at the nomal pricing but for 27 bucks, I thought I'd give it a go. BTW mine is a 2wheeler but the allwheeler switch was on the panel. Camera phone kinda sucks.

Looks great, I've been thinking about getting the gray set for my mounty , I'm guessing the switch is for ride height with the air ride ,

Makes sense since the Limited was an allwheeler. It had the piece for the cup holder but it was for a single cup and mine has dual.
