Hello everyone! I need help. do I go with the Truxxx 2.5" leveling kit for my 06 Eddie Bauer? or the traxda 2.5 front and 1.25 rear?

Traxda--http://traxda.com/06-10-ford-explorer-2wd-4wd-sport-trac-mercury-mountaineer-front-and-rear-lift-kit-102010.html

Truxxx--http://truxxx.com/2002-2010-ford-explorer-2wd-4wd-sport-trac-lift-kit-102010.html

Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks for looking!

Yeah, thats probably going to be the best look, I'd do it. I mean there isn't anything wrong with the other one, but I like this one better. Plus I think that one has a slightly better ride, not as firm as the other, but then again if you are looking for more serious off-road capability, then that one is fine.

My friend put the other one on his truck about the same time I put this one on mine. Really the difference is not remarkable, so I managed to sell that one (with only 25 miles on it) to a member who lives close by and went ahead and bought the other one online with free shipping. That one I bought locally. Now I'm much happier and so is he. It really looks great.

But, if you do end up with that one, let us know how it works out for you. And take some before & after pictures.

so this one works better than that one and the other one?.... LOL.... that was pretty confusing to read

That was a little confusing lol, I haven't bought either one yet. However should I go with the traxda which is a little more expensive or truxxx which is cheaper?

That was confusing. I just want to know if I should go for the cheaper or more expensive? which is better quality/better for the money

Any idea yourself? I would like to purchase tonight so I can have it installed this weekend, and advice is more than welcomed!

They are the exact same thing. Truxxx changed their name to truxada because they were having issues with the name. Any Truxxx ones will be old stock.

Then it's a good thing I went with the Traxda one. I was wondering why everything I typed for truxxx came up with traxda. Thanks for the help!

I just installed this kit and I like it a lot. The steering at high speed feels a bit softer which is the downside... but tthe added lift is reallt nice. There is a nasty rock near a hunting spot that I bottom out on every year. .. just crawled over it and nada ;)

Would you mind posting a pic for me? I'm really curious what it looks like. Also, did you keep stock struts and wheels?

I kept stock struts and I'm happy with them... no bottoming out etc. As for tires... they looked too small after lift. I scored some jeep takeoffs and they are 32". Look decent and we're dirt cheap... no rub. After selling my stock ones I broke even (lots of jeep guys upgrading and selling). I also like non "mudders" cause they are way too loud and the mpg is poor... they do look nice but not practical.

I will definitely post some pics but my truck is on blocks again as I just finished a manual swap... now it's back in getting s supercharger :) I also am currently swapping g out cloth for leather, blacking out rims, and colour matching all the trim and pulling the chrome! So will post on my other build thread soon!!!

Highly recommend the lift kit. Easy install If you have a spring compressor and tie rod fork (don't need the spring compressor but I think I skipped a few steps with it).

Cheers

Forgot to mention... I also spaced out the tires 1.5"... but it does cause rub if you do that. Looks a bit better though (clarify.. NO rub with jeep 32" r17s WITHOUT spacers and lift... RUB with 1.5" spacers. )

So if I use 265/70/17 without anything but the kit itself it will rub?

I actually have the Traxda kit alreadt, just waiting to install. What size tires do you recommend? I'm looking at 265/70/17. Afraid of rubbing though. Thoughts?

255 75 17 :)

They are a really nice affordable and practical size. No rub and sound is good on highway and mpg is unchanged. I actually get comments on it. Just this week I was at a parts store and got stopped by someone that had to know what lift and tires I had.
