Loud beeeeeep when accelerating hard

From the vid it looks like it starts right at 25mph. The beep sounds like a max speed warning I heard when I rented a Focus that had MyKey settings set to 65 mph limit. Is it possible it's in valet mode :dunno:
All the Mykey settings have been turned off, and I even deleted the Mykey that was set. It does it at different speeds, this video just happens to be at 25.

that or the My Key is setup to warn for speeds above ~25mph so the kids can't :burnout:.
EDIT: I just re-read the first post. Are you sure you have all settings cleared? Does it happen with more than one key?

Does it only happen under heavy acceleration?
I took it back into the dealer and had the tech clear all the settings, after I had to buy a second key as when I bought it I only got 1. It happens with both keys no matter if one is a Mykey or not.

Yes, It only happens under heavy acceleration.

What did the salesperson/dealer say at the time? Why did you buy it?

Anyway, I would scan the vehicle for DTCs just to be sure there aren't any. Then I would go back to the mykey stuff and confirm it has been disabled (maybe even try setting it up for a higher limit, testing it, then clearing it again). It probably wouldn't hurt to verify that the previous owner didn't leave a device plugged in that monitored his/her driving (check OBD port).
Sales person said it was just a setting that needed to be turned off and if I took it to Ford they could do it, they couldn't because I only had one key that was set as a Mykey. Sales person didn't know since they are not a Ford dealer. Bought a new key and had the dealer clear all settings. I reset up one as a Mykey with a higher limit and it still did it at random speeds. Turned the setting off, still did it. Cleared the Mykey, still did it.

What are DTC's? And how do I scan for them? Where is the OBD port? Lol!

Diagnostic Trouble Code. The OBD port should be just below the bottom of the dash and slightly to the left of the steering column. look for the handle to open the hood and check just to the right of it and back a bit. It is a female plug. You need an OBD scan tool. https://www.amazon.com/Code-Readers-Scan-Tools/b?node=15707381 There are a few posts on the different types that have been recommended by members in this thread; New Forscan Update Allows Module Programming.

OBD port should be under dash below steering wheel. There shouldn't be anything plugged into it normally. You would need a scan tool to check for DTCs - diagnostic trouble codes. Scan tool would plug into OBD port, so if anyone connected one, they should have noticed if something else was already plugged in.

I didn't think mykey was set up to beep for aggressive driving, but maybe something was corrupted.

Can you identify where the sound is coming from (vehicle speaker, instrument cluster, elsewhere)?

Since yours only beeps under heavy acceleration over a range of speeds and doesn't when you drive more normal, it sure seems more like some kind of driving/fleet monitor that has been set to beep under specific parameters. I've seen plug in and hardwired versions, so you may need to have a look under the dash or wherever the sound seems to be coming from.

The other possibility is that you have some sort of electrical issue which would need to be investigated/traced by a competent mechanic. Did vehicle history/carfax show anythign unusual (prior company/fleet owner, accident/flood history, service issues)?

If this was a recent purchase, I think I'd be pursuing this with the management of the dealership you bought it from and asking them for assistance. If they are at all ethical and you explain what the salesperson told you and what you have done to rectify the problem, hopefully they will offer some kind of assistance.

The sound seems to be coming from the same area as the alert that sounds if I were driving without a seatbelt. Carfax showed no accidents, flood, or service issues... but it did say it was used for a business/government for courier service.
It had aftermarket speakers behind the rear bumper that would beep when in reverse, but I disconnected them. I never thought it could be something like that since it sounds like the beeps for other factory warnings.
How would I tell if it's something installed?

That makes more sense now. Only thing you can do is start looking around and see what you can find. If you can get the contact info on the courier service, perhaps you could try to reach out to them and ask them what they may have installed.

If hardwired, you may have to poke around a bit under the dash and it may be hard to find if it's a clean install and you don't know exactly what you are looking for. If plug in device, look for something like the below cable plugged into OBD port with the monitoring device plugged into the end of it and tucked up under dash.

Just curious, does it beep if you have the vehicle in "run" but engine not on and you move the pedal quickly?

Now that the courier service was mentioned, I could see an upfitter installing an alarm like that to warn they are driving erratically and/or above what they are allowed. It might have been part of a device that reports back to the company as well.

Two things:

1.) it sounds like the beep the IPC makes in test mode, which is interesting.
2.) Time to sniff under the dash for weird modules.

Is this the OBD port?

Although it may be on yours, it looks a little different than mine.

That's it.

So, if nothing is plugged in, the next thing would be to pull that trim panel and look for anything that doesn't belong. Which will be a challenge, unless you know what should be there.
Hi Jon. Are you sure that is OEM? My first thought was that it looked like an add-on.

How do I get it out of it's not OEM? I tried pulling on it (not too hard) and it wiggles, but doesn't want to come out. Here is a better, closer picture.

Do you have another plug to the left of that one?

On my 16 it is just to the right of the hood latch and a little further under the dash. There is a cutout on the trim panel where yours is but nothing is there.

That's the only one I can see

I'll have to look at mine more closely, but it looks right to me, at least for a '15.
