I have the 255's on mine, zero issues.

I have the 255/55 20’s installed for about 2 months without issue.

realized I never posted an "after" install of the Pirelli Scorpion Strada all season 255/55R20s, which fit really well, so here it is:

Will a 255/55/20 tire fit in the wheel wells of a 2016 Sport with no lift and not rub?

What about 275/55/20? (I know it exceed the 3%, I just want to know if it will fit without rubbing.

I’ve not found a strait answer to either of these.

Thanks in advance.

I've searched and searched the interwebs and this forum for an answer. I'm simply wondering if anyone has replaced their 255 50 20's with 255 55 20's. I know they are an inch taller and will modify the speedometers accuracy slightly. Will these rub at full steering wheel turn? Any other thoughts?
I know this is an older post but I just wanted to say that I did just this on my 2017 Explorer limited. They definitely filled up the wheel well more but now I'm a bit concerned about putting a load on the vehicle. Will the tires rub if I tow something or put 7 people in it, or both? Time will tell. The ride deference is undetectable. What I hadn't thought about is the spare tire is a different size now. Will that be a problem if I need to use it? I got such a smoking good deal on a full set if Continental Crosscontact tires that I couldn't pass it up. Now I'm not so sure that was the best move but it's done and I'm not changing it. I'm hoping that tge time that's past since this thread was originally posted that there's more insight. Anyone care to share if they have also done this?

I have 255 55 20s on my wife's. I got a hell of a deal on a set of new takeoffs from a traverse. ($150 for all 4).. I love them. Ride is so much smoother than the 50s..
Have you run into any problems with these tires? I just put on a set of 255/55/20 takeoffs from a Traverse as well.

Replacing 255/50R20 tires with 255/55R20 ones will slightly exceed the 3% maximum diameter variance. It will affect the systems (ABS, TC) to some degree as they would be factory calibrated to the OEM size.

Thanks Peter, I think I'm going to find an OEM set and replace them asap.

Apparently, FORScan will allow the changing of some OEM tire sizes to the new ones to keep everything in perspective.
I have read posts where members have used tires where the maximum diameter variance differences were greater than yours. I doubt that you'd have much of an issue with what you have.

For some reason I'm oddly in love with these tires, so I'd like to keep them but not at the expense of any issues that may occur. Thanks again for easing my concerns a bit.

Hello everyone I have a question for anyone that can answer it. Has anybody ever put 255/55/20s onto a 2011ford edge limited. I have only 3 245/50/20 on it atm. Just curious if they will fit

If anyone is still interested, I have replaced the 255/50/20 with 255/55/20 tires with 0 issues other than the speedo is a bit out of sync, but not enough to worry about. They do fill the wheel well up and I haven't put much of a load in or on the vehicle and would be cautious about pulling any weight in a trailer.
