Ive got my CEL to turn off and I was going to start working on the ABS light, which is burnt out but I know it’s on. Went to get the code pulled and the Bosch scanner they use at O’rileys will not communicate, even went to a second location. Father-in-law has a cheap scanner that will communicate but will not read ABS codes.
So I started troubleshooting the port, I have 12 and 5 VDC on pins (I looked it up, can’t recall rite now) and two good grounds. Nothing on the three data circuits. So I think that’s good?

While I was down there I noticed the gas pedal bracket looked bent, so I went to shim it with a nickel. That some ***** broke off! Did a quick fix with some 5/16th hardware and JB weld, after grinding off the tack welds. Thought I would share the pics.

Anyone know why some scanners will connect and others won’t?
