Hi, today I noticed a stain on my ceiling and not sure if that is possible to have a body leak from roof? I am going to schedule appt with ford. But, anybody had any leaking issue like that in 2021 explorer? I am posting some pictures. It is on the end left side car. I did not noticed any water in the trunk yet, but that sign concerns me and looks like water steam.

Welcome to the Forum.
FYI, the earlier 5th gen Explorers had leaks that resulted from the side rail rear mounting point.
I don't believe I've read any posts about that same issue with the 6th gen Explorer. If you have the sunroof, it could also be from that. The best thing is to have the dealer check it out.

Ford fixed it under warranty and yes there is issue in 2021 version:
“12544 WATER LEAK FROM TOP OF REAR HATCH. DRIVERS SIDE ROOF RAIL AT BACK TRIM WILL NOT STAY SEATED. RESEATED ROOF RAIL AND RESEALED”

Is the water spot still visible on the headliner? If it is, they should have replaced that as well.

Hi Folks. my 2021 xlt with panoramic roof started leaking in January 2022. Ford has been great to deal with. Had it in 4 times but still leaks. ... they cant find the leak point. 1st they cleared the A pillar drain tubes. Next time they adjusted the sunroof. 3rd time replaced the entire Panaoramic roof, 4th time sent to a body shop & smoke tested with all the inside liners removed. Water always drips out the Dome Light console which is the lowest point of exit on the roof liner. I always back into my driveway with a very slight forward slope to the driveway, so I think its a weld, seam or mounting screw for the roof rails. Or maybe the Shark Fin antenna.

Unless the 6th gen is different from the 5th gen Explorer, there should be 4 drain tubes. 2 at the front and 2 and the rear of the moonroof.
Is it possible that the seal between the body and the top of the windshield is the cause of the leak? Have you tried reversing your parking so the slope is toward the back to see if it makes a difference?

thanks Peter. The dealer has done the drain hose thing, so now Ill start parking the other way. My fear now is where will the water go? I don't want the spare tire swimming.

Give it a try and see what happens. You could be in for another heavy rainfall depending on what the latest hurricane does after hitting Florida.
My brother and his wife have a place in Cheverie where they spend time from May to October then they head back to London, ON.

my '21 XLT leaks and comes in at the dome light console . but it only happens when I park backed in and the rear of the car is up hill with nose down ... so this could be the entry point of my water leak . The local Ford dealer is great to work with and are trying hard to find the leak and fix it. But haven't been able to yet

Hi Len, Do you have a sun/moon roof? If so, that could be the cause—a bad seal. Do you have any issues when driving in the rain?

Hi Peter. yes, I have the panoramic sunroof. fyi, had this in 4 times 1st to check drain hoses & adjust the closing, then they replaced the whole panoramic sunroof unit, then they sent to a body shop. thought they had it solved & fixed & 1 month later is started leaking again.
no, never experienced any issues while driving in the rain .
Ford has now sent for windshield test, passed. Now we have body shop plastic self stick film sealing off the entire sunroof for up to a month to try and eliminate it as the culprit

See if they will buy it back before the warranty runs out
