Ford explorer 2010 xlt
Hello explorer enthusiasts.

need some help with my ford explorer 2010 xlt. With 5R55S
Since past few days i am experiencing some issues with the truck.

Wrench light comes on everytime i go above 4 th gear. But no unusual behavior with the truck.. no limp mode or anything.
Takes off good, drives smooth, champ.

Went to my local mechanic and did a self test on the obd scan tool.
Found a code P0741- (TCC SLIP above expected).

Pulled out some live data that i am sharing below..

I have no knowledge of this stuff whatsoever..
I have checked All the youtube videos and forum but cant find a proper answer.

Please share your opinion

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Transmissions aren't my forte, but it seems like your torque converter clutch is not locking up correctly.

Common Problems That Trigger the P0741 Code:

  • Defective Torque Converter Lockup Solenoid
  • Defective Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
  • Defective Torque Converter Clutch
  • Defective Valve Body
  • Dirty transmission fluid that restricts the hydraulic passages

Thanks for the reply.
Can you suggest me how i can test these without dismantling anything.

I belive the ECT is good because i saw the reading for ECT working fine on my obd ..

Sorry, that's all I've got. If no one else has a better suggestion, I'd take it to a local transmission shop and eat the diagnostic fee, and hopefully they are honest and competent.
