91-94 any truck with ABS on the four weels?

Post number 22 has been selected as best answered.

This is the back of a 1994 abs rotor

If your late 93-94 truck does not have these then abs will disable itself and you will get a light

Many of us will actually pull the controller, all wiring fuses and relays, sensors and AB’s components

Hi guys. As far as I know, cars before '93 had ABS on the rear wheels. And later on 4 wheels. My truck is a '91 manual transmission and has ABS on the rear wheels. There's an expert in the seat. Let's ask her:)

While you're getting your brakes redone, it'll be a good time to upgrade the front discs to 2 piston calipers like the 2nd gen.

Does it make the brakes much better? How difficult is it to do?

I haven't done it yet (on my wishlist lol), but a few from here have.

This covers most of it.

Yes, wish lists, wish lists) I have rear disc brakes on my list and all the parts for this are already in stock. Looks like you provoked me to create another wish list:cool:

Hello, nice thread
today I had to take a path of rocks and dirt, it seemed like the perfect time to do a horizontal test. When I stepped on the brake, I clearly felt how the ABS responded, in a perfect straight line.In other words, the system is complete and working. Good to know were i'm.

The upgrade to 95-97 ranger knuckles so you can use the dual piston caliper and real caliper slide Bolts is huge.
I upgraded my bronco ii to 95-97 ranger outers a few years ago. Having a dual caliper piston vs the single piston makes a huge improvement in front braking. Also the caliper slides on real Bolts not the pinch/ slide pins like the 83-94 ttb used.

The calipers and pads used with the 95-97 are the same as 95-01 explorers so parts are also cheap and available

One of the best upgrades you can do to these old rigs

I could be wrong, but it is possible to install front brake calipers from later models. As far as I saw from the links above, this upgrade is not very difficult, but requires precision and high-quality welding.

The best way is to use 95-97 ranger knuckles, then everything bolts in like factory
