If it's a 4.0 SOHC it's high mileage....if its the 4.0 OHV it's only about 2/3rds through it's life span....
 












Keep the cooling system in top shape ...preventative maintenance, replace thermostat, flush out radiator/ fresh coolant etc and these can make it to 400,000 and beyond.

Yea it was a single owner from California it was kept in really good shape glad to hear I also have a 2000 Ford ranger with the ohv it has 200,000 as well

/\ Nice looking Ranger ....I had a '94 that I sold to get my current 4X Explorer for off-roading...the 4.0 ohv in that was just shy of 250,000 when I sold it and it ran perfectly, I was even negligent on timely oil changes, never needed to open engine up for anything.
You got the last year the 4.0 ohv was available, my neighbor has one too, which I always assumed was likely a 3.0, but discovered recently it's a 4.0 as well.

Just picked up some off road tires for the 4x4 ranger my explorer is only 2wd might do a 4x4 swap if I can get all the parts they are both manual
