1993 Explorer Shift Shaft Seal Pin Removal?

Howdy friends. I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove this pin from the shift shaft seal. I've asked a transmission shop in town, and they recommended to drill it out. Any advice? It's a 1993 Explorer with the 4.0L automatic.

I wanted to know if anybody knows how to get the lever assembly out of case because i need to put it on a differnt trans.I saw what looked like a roll pin in case and is this what holds it in after you have taken the nut off inside on the lever shaft.Any tips would help...
