Does anyone know how to remove the overhead console on a 2010 Eddie Baurer?
I don't see any screws and I don't want to break anything trying to pull it down.

Could you grab a picture of the overhead console? Or does it have the sunglass and garage door opener compartments?

This video might help since the Sport Trac and Explorer have very similar interiors.

open the sunglass holder and remove the 1 screw, then PULL.

This is why i like to see pictures on a lot of the overhead consoles there is a screw under a cover where a garage door opender would go. This is what i have and what was posted above.

From looking at pictures online you don't have any screws to remove. There is just a couple of body clips holding it in. You just need to pull down the back side and the possibly slide it back once the clips are out. Reference the picture below for placement of these clips.

Thank you so much for all of your help.

I have a 2009 Eddie Bauer Explorer with overhead console, no sunroof and a compartment for sunglasses and a panel with 3 buttons to program garage door to vehicle, and a panel with two control knobs for HVAC to rear passenger area. THERE IS NO SCREW in any compartment anywhere! I too fear just pulling down will break some plastic somewhere. Can anyone confirm this over head console is ONLY HELD in place with clips and NO SCREWS. I am at my wits end! ps: the problem is the plastic locking device that holds the sunglasses door shut broke! Now it jsut hangs down! HELP! (SEE PICS) It appears the Homelink compartment panel should drop down on this model. I bet there may be 1 screw inside that compartment as heavy downwrd force does not allow OHC to drop done!).

*** UPDATE *** i have no solution replies to date! FYI: The pics IN MY THREAD are from Ebay ad with 2009 Explorer EB O/H panel 'exactly' like mine! Be advised that there are MANY MANY configurations of these OH consoles in these Gen 4 models! Mine has the clear map plastic cover in front. Behind that is the rear seat HVAC control knobs (2 ea) panel area. Behind that is the flip down sunglasses panel area. Behind that is the Homelink panel access area. I was able to remove the clear light lense. There are NO screws in that compartment securing the O/H console to roof. I pulled the knobs off the HVAC panel area. No fasteners there either. The next panel is sunglasses panel area and the latch is broken and it hangs down and why I need to remove the complete O/H console to gain the access to remove and replace it.! No fasteners in that area either! There were 2 tiny rubber plugs here, but I removed both and no hidden fasteners in those holes either. The last area is the Homelink panel area. Look close the pics of it. From the inside you can see it has 2 swing down hinges, BUT it does not have a release button (like the sunglasses panel) ON THE OUTSIDE, to allow you to release and drop it down! Look close again at the inside pic of it and you will see a tiny plastic piece that apparently click/locks and holds that panel up. I see no way to release it? Light screw driver pressure to 'open' the gap does not release it. How is this Homelink panel removed? Is it Before or After the entire O/H console is removed? Obviously there are several clips that attach to the main O/H console and clip it to the roof, but I cannot get them to budge with heavy force! ANY COMMENTS OR HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. MY NEXT MOVE IS TO GO TO A DEALER SERVCE DEPT AND SEE IT THEY HAVE A DETAILED REMOVAL INSTRUCTION. I CAN FIND NOTHING ON THE INTERNET DETAILING MY EXACT DESIGN. Apologies for getting so wordy! U.N.C.L.E.! ... HELP YA'LL!
