Just had an Acdelco go bad after 9 months (on the car we drive more). It was tested and determined to be bad..duds happen If not used much it could be toast. Need to be on trickle or driven weekly for a while.

Buy 17 steel wheels and then the base hubs. Cheap as can be. Or if your lucky some 18 xlt wheels.... don't mess with 16 they wont fit and always have to worry about offset bolt pattern etc.

2 new motorcraft control arms for 185 each plus 140 in labor was my cost. My mechanic is wonderful and doesn't charge an arm and leg. End links are probably under a hundred with labor for motorcraft. Don't get non motorcraft parts. I used to be cheap but ended up costing more.

Bilstein makes firmer struts, but new struts will likely firm up thingsa bit. I replaced struts and strut mounts. Left the springs as is.

So are you open to non cartridge or not? If not buy the Monroe but know they are not as good as Motorcraft. They are softer rise wise and the quality of the product is second to Motorcraft. Leaks, strut mounts clunk. They won't likely last 100k. I asked my mechanic about Monroe and he said only...

Ford doesn't put seam sealer on the creases on the door skins. No rust on rear gate in the middle where they did put seam sealer on. Yes other brands rust but its a chronic problem with every Ford that I've had over the years.....

Wire wheel, Por15 and touchup paint. Top with clearcoat and use ceramic wax on it couple times a year. Biggest disappointment in Ford for me has been the early corrosion and or rust.

This should be on the 2020 board as you are comparing two different generations. Im a sample size but I had zero suspension issues until 150k when both front control arm were shot. I replaced everything else in the front suspension proactively at 130k because shocks and struts are tired by then.

Had that with sway bar link and maybe shock before.

If I am not mistaken fluid film can cause harm to some rubber (non oil resistant per the packaging) by causing it to swell. Silicone does not. FF is good to prevent rust bit I'd be careful spraying everywhere which it does state on the can.

There are some youtube video for the Taurus I believe that show a DIY fix for something similiar. Its really pricey otherwise. Maybe search for 2011 taurus rear suspension or rear bushing. Try searching for 2011 explorer as well.

Why wasn't the rack covered? Did you push back on the dealer?
