I have been looking at cold air intakes for my 05' ST, currently i have a flowmaster muffler and a 3 inch exhaust tip, but i want to add a CAI system for a little better performance and sound, what cold air intakes will fit the ST? i prefer K&N but looking around at different sites most of them...

i was down at the muffler shop yesterday and i wanted to do an si/do setup but the guy told me its very difficult to set up a dual setup on these trucks because of the fuel tank being in the way, so i ended up just getting a single setup.

we get gas mileage like a truck so yes :D. plus it comes in 2wd and 4x4 not awd like ridgelines and claiming to be 4wd.

i had a problem in my ranger that i had before the ST, sometimes when i would start up the engine would turn on but then the truck would start shaking and the lights flicker it looks like it was about to turn of until i gave it some gas, it was occasional though.

i got an '05 with 123000 miles, no problems with mine.

you can always look up the VIN online, i looked mine up i have an 05 xlt mine has basically all the stuff yours has, plus paint matching bumper and running boards, step bars, but i don't have the towing package or L/S, i guess every trac is unique lol.

you could probably get by with cranking the T-bars that will give it a 1.5-2 inch lift plenty of room for 31's and it looks good, its the cheapest too. if you want to take it a little further go with a body lift.

either way when with that many miles and if you get new shockes you will notice major improvments, i replaced mine and i noticed a HUGE difference in ride. much less bouncy.

mines running fine, its an 05 with 122k miles did it have regular service done with the previous owners,? you might wanna check the fuel line for leaks and see if you can smell gas coming out when you do start up.

the only problem i heard of with the latest explorers is sometimes when you accelerate a little harder you can smell burning oil. but other than that it's probably reliable. i also don't like GM at all really as mentioned earlier reliability can always be an issues with them, i still see plenty...

im not sure how 3.73 is i had a 3.73 ranger and i got a 4.10 st now i can go 70-75 on the highway and i will sit around 2500 rpms. but my acceleration is alot better than it was on the ranger. but the ranger was also a 2.3 L

Hello, i noticed when i purchased my sport trac last week it is FFV and i live in ohio, so there is a great amount of E85, its cheaper but i know it burns quicker. but my question is how is the mpg compared to normal gasoline? and is e85 bad for your engine and any other components?
