    What's your status?

So someone is going to throw all of this into a matrix with conditional formatting and identify order/sync/deliver/option package trends right? :D

    What's your status?

    Ordered 1/31 Built 2/7 SMR 2/10 with 2.4 ETA 1: 2/14 ETA 2: 2/20 (still) Awaiting Shipping

    Who is "awaiting shipment?"

I ordered 1/31/ build 2/7, still shows ETA of 2/14, going crazy too.

    Rear-facing child seat install

ok, I know what your talking about now. I had the same issue with some front facing gracos. I wound up getting it aligned in the center just right with a towel to get it locked down. I use the belts with the front facing so the tether isn't in the way (you can get them really tight with the belt...

    Sync ver 2.6?

So my father purchased an explorer with v2.4 on it this winter (I'm still waiting on mine to ship) and he has had a lot of problems with his sync. He contacted our dealer (really good one, bought many cars from them, large dealer, tech savvy) and they said that 2.4 was the latest version. He...

    Rear-facing child seat install

Are you putting a towel underneath the seat to level it out properly and provide compression material so you can get the belts really tight? It also doubles to protect the seat.

Husky / Weathertech mats - Group Buy

Yea, the sill issue isn't a showstopper for me either. For years I have had the all weather mats which don't even approach the sill and they have done fine. I found most of the time the water/snow/mud melts off the shoes while riding and pools, then evaporates. I can recall a couple of time...

Husky / Weathertech mats - Group Buy

My reasons are probably pretty stupid, but I'll throw them out there. 1. I have experience with WeatherTech. I had them in my 92 Ex, my 03 Ex, and my 07 Ex, and they have been great (all weather, not digital cuts). 2. I like the pattern on them more, they seem "deeper" in the tread on them...

Yea, I like the weathertech better. I guess they never got back in touch with him.

11' Compact Lift-Up Seat by Bruno

I can see Ford not getting the information out to them yet. I'm not sure what manuals are out for it yet so they may be getting it all in order for publishing. What kind of wiring specs does that accesory need? They probably just find 12 volts somewhere on an appropriate circuit to run it...

Anyone using a Thule Cargo Box on their new X

It is perfect for the portable crib. Those things just don't seem to pack well inside, they are kinda long when folded up. One thing I would caution is heat/cold. Last winter on a ski trip we put the inflatable toddler bed up there and it was about 10 degrees out for the 3 hour ride. When we...

Anyone using a Thule Cargo Box on their new X

I manage it by cramming as much as I possible can into the thing :p: Usually I volume the thing out long before I would weight it out. That is, usually bag chairs, sand buckets for beach, skis in the winter, hiking boots, etc. Not a lot of height in my lo pro so I don't really get suitcases...

I was told 1000ft depending on how many walls, corners, etc your trying to get the signal through.

    AVI Input?

Nice. Too bad you can't tap into the surround sound on the truck for it. Oh well, we can't have it all I guess. Some other tricks I was thinking... 1. Get two xboxs, plug one into each DVD headrest and then: a- play over xbox live against each other and those on the net, b- play...

    AVI Input?

Interesting, I was under the impression the WIFI would work if the car was moving. The manual doesn't say anything specifically about disabling the wifi when the car is moving. I know folks have had a hard time getting the USB drives to work, but some have had luck with tethering. Has anyone...

    AVI Input?

Technically, if you have a limited with DVD headrests, xbox, xbox wifi adapter, and a 4g USB stick, you should be able to plug the xbox into the 110v outlet, play it on one or both of the DVD screens in the headrests, and play on xbox live through the wifi network through the 4g USB stick :)

Husky / WeatherTech Floor and Cargo Liners

WT does offer the cargo liner doesn't it? I'm trying to decide what color to get. Is everyone getting black to match the black carpet (assuming you have light stone interior) or are they getting gray to match the seats?

Extended Service Plan (ESP) prices comparison thread

What are the feelings on deductibles? Seems like anything over $100 isn't worth it. Do people like $50 or $100?

Extended Service Plan (ESP) prices comparison thread

ESP is for the warranty. You can add MPs to it or buy that seperately. Some of the folks above with the quotes from your dealers, why not print out the other price sheets from the links posted here and show it to your dealer and get them to match. Can anyone confirm they will roll this...

Extended Service Plan (ESP) prices comparison thread

Understand the comments against the ESPs, but I have had some small things add up in my old explorers. My 07 needed a new Evap canister solenoid which was a few hundred (check engine light on and not covered under normal emissions warranty and won't pass emissions test around here). Also had a...

Extended Service Plan (ESP) prices comparison thread

So the discussion in the thread about what else the dealer has tried to get people to buy made me think about the ESPs. Perhaps we can compare what folks are offered at their dealers (or on the internet) here. That would let folks have a one stop shop for pricing ideas when they walk in to meet...

    Thule Cross bars

oh, I didn't realize the Thule's were the ones giving you the noise. I think they are probably on correctly then, they are just gonna be noisy unless you get a wind deflector or something. Part of the reason most OEM cross bars are shaped the way they are.

    Thule Cross bars

You need to take a close look and see if the cross bars are installed in the right direction. On my father's Expedition years back they used to whistle like crazy and then one day we took a look at them and compared to other trucks on the lot, the manual, and photos on the ford site and figured...

    Still Waiting

Yea, us too. My sales guy (who I have known for about 10 years and bought many cars from) said that the ford rep (I'm the guy that won the facebook sweepstakes so there is a rep working with my dealer) said this: BTW, I ordered in late Jan, build of 2/7 with original ETA of 2/14

    wheel locks

oh, yup, sorry, not looking for the hidden ones. As for size, I'm sure it is on the net somewhere (Isn't the manual on the net I heard? It might be in there). The Fordaccessories site shows the hidden ones work on the 2010 and 2009 explorers too so it must be the same stem size if you look...

    wheel locks

I don't plan on parking my Ex anywhere that there is the threat of someone swiping my wheels :) Anyway..they show up for me if I click on fordaccessories.com then put in the 2011 explorer and then click on wheels and then Zinc-Plated For Hidden Lugs Part Number: F5TZ-1A043-A Here is a...

    Wiper Question

In my experience with my 03 and 07, if I need to wipe the windshield then 9 times out of 10 it is already dark enough that the auto lights will pop on. however, I do understand your point and it is a great feature to have the lights come on when the wipers are when in auto light mode

Husky / Weathertech mats - Group Buy

I'd be up for the front and 2nd row Weathertechs. On a side note, what color are folks going for assuming you have the light stone interior? Black to match the carpet or gray to match the leather? Tan carpet and tan leather used to make it such an easy decision.

    Wiper Question

For those with rain sensing wipers, on the wiper control it says "auto" instead of "delay" where you adjust the delay speed.

Ford Explorer Cross Bars / Roof Rack

I don't have my new X yet and I have the Yakima low pro, but on my 2007 with the box I will clear a 6'8" garage height opening by 1 inch with 35 psi tires. I assume it won't be a problem with the new X since it is a little lower. I actually wound up cutting off the extra material from the angled...

    WeatherTech Digital Floor Liners

Yup, I saw yesterday they have the cargo liner now available also. I've always had the softer all weather liners for the front and second row. Not so sure about the digital cut ones. Any opinions? Do they feel cheap? Seems like they would be loud and do they hold as much water/snow/mud as the...

    Danger inside your X

I see the point, but there is also a limit to what you can do also. Did they show what happens when a jar of mayo comes out of the grocery bag in the back? What about everyone's cell phones? Toys? Strollers? There are a lot of projectiles rolling around the car in a car, both those that...

    About to Cancel Order

If your gonna get a toyota, your days are numbered. Not just because it is a toyota, but they estimate running out of parts by the end of this week I think because of the earthquake (most of the vehicles are built here, but most of the parts still come from Japan...and most of the profits go there)

Ford Explorer Cross Bars / Roof Rack

The factory cross bars are installed by popping out the "plugs" in the back of the roof rails and then sliding the cross bars into the channel and putting the plugs back in. There is no way for them to get out of the channel unless you took them out the same way they went in. I have never had an...
