That's my understanding. If we get our X in time, I've already been told by the kids (and Mom) they want to bring the XBox with us on trip down to S. Carolina. To do this, though, you'd need to have the 110v outlet in your build.

Sure is a lot cheaper!

I would think the vehicle would need to be in park for the Xbox to show up on the screen.

Yup, will only be able to play games while you stop to get gas. ;)

Ahh...I have information that you don't that would have been helpful for me to post.

Yes, you have to be in park to play using the MFT screen, but...

if you purchased the Headrest DVD units (like I did), then you can plug the Xbox directly into either of these units (displaying the the same screen on each unit) and play on these screens ;)

That's what I meant.

Technically, if you have a limited with DVD headrests, xbox, xbox wifi adapter, and a 4g USB stick, you should be able to plug the xbox into the 110v outlet, play it on one or both of the DVD screens in the headrests, and play on xbox live through the wifi network through the 4g USB stick :)

Yes, but I think wifi was one of this silly things that only work when parked? Why would anyone want to access wifi while driving? I mean it's not that these X's were designed seat 6 other passengers who might have an interest in that

Interesting, I was under the impression the WIFI would work if the car was moving. The manual doesn't say anything specifically about disabling the wifi when the car is moving. I know folks have had a hard time getting the USB drives to work, but some have had luck with tethering.

Has anyone been able to verify if the wifi works while moving? I know many had lots of plans for their kids to use Ipads, etc while moving with the wifi.

I will be getting a cheap white old XBOX for this and a power inverter.

Thanks guys

Nice.

Too bad you can't tap into the surround sound on the truck for it. Oh well, we can't have it all I guess.

Some other tricks I was thinking...

1. Get two xboxs, plug one into each DVD headrest and then: a- play over xbox live against each other and those on the net, b- play against each other over the local wireless lan, c- if your going for the most boring solution, run a 6" ethernet cable between them and play against each other over the wired lan.

2. Rockband in the car? Drummer in the third row, guitars in the center, mic in the front passenger?

3. scene it DVD with the "buzzers" for in car trivia game between all of those in the back.

4. What if you used the xbox as the DVD player for the car? Then you could use the remote control to control it. Better for those who complain about not being able to control the DVD headrests or the xbox from the front seat, put some leap frog IR repeaters in the truck (transmitter in front, receiver/sender in the back corner ceiling somewhere" and then you can use the remote in the front).

....how can we utilize a kinect in the Ex I wonder?....

^^ haha some crazy ideas man!

What do you guys live in your trucks??? LOL..

I'll stick to having my Wii on my LCD tv..

Nice. COD Black Ops :) Love it. I've got two copies so I can play on one big screen, and daughters (older) can play on back big screen in back room, then we can yell back and forth.

What do you need a power inverter for? Can't you just plug right into the 110 v outlet? Or do you not have that?

This would make a great wallpaper too!

Thats too cool........great wallpaper or start up screen....PS3 works great too.

I was playing Need For Speed Hot Pursuit in the back seat through the OEM headrest DVD and the wife told to me to STFU

Hey guys,

Wow, I’m really jealous of this awesome setup! I looked into it a confirmed the WiFi is available to the passengers while moving as long as there is coverage. By the way jeeden, I really like the tricks you suggested!
