    2011 infotainment swap.

Thank you Peter. Yes I have checked, but the plastic is very brittle. Most of the used ones are already broke. Its not really a button its like a touch sensitive deal. There has been multiple times I would have liked to have hazard lights. But they are in the "I'd rather have them and not need...

    2011 infotainment swap.

My 2011's hazard and cd eject(not used anyway) buttons have stopped working. The Ford dealer said the part(trim) is unavailable and the entire system(screen and trim) needs to be replaced as a assembly to the tune of over 1k. In discussion with a friend I was made aware that there are options...

    No Key Detected

So I think that message may have been the wifes fault. When she got the new battery in she got it to start but didn't snap the remote back together. So I think in her ride home the battery lost connection. That still doesn't explain why putting the remote in the center console spot didn't allow...

    No Key Detected

I will check when I get home. She was able to make it home(10 miles) without it disabling the car. When she got into the driveway and turned it off this is what it showed.

    No Key Detected

So my wife just called and said the car had "no key detected". I explained to put it in the slot in the center console, still no start. I walked her through the procedure to remote start the car(she doesn't use it). The car started fine. But still no key detected. She went in the store and got a...

    2011 explorer cd eject/hazard button

Wanting to fix this still. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the dash control unit?

    2011 explorer cd eject/hazard button

Ya when I looked up the number it was only available as a used part. I removed the control panel last year to get access to the button. Its not actually a button. The entire control panel for everything involved hvac/radio is like 20ish buttons and it only a 6 or 8 pin connector. Not sure how...

    2011 explorer cd eject/hazard button

So the car broke down this AM and I found the hazard button isn't working. The fix is to replace the $800 piece that is the buttons. Looking for some that can help me with wiring in a actual switch bypassing the factory "button/wiring". Does anyone know if this is possible?

    P0171, P0174 codes

My 2011 explorer has/had p0171,p0174. So this morning I go out to look for the vacuum leak. Little brake cleaner all over the engine and nothing. I opened the the air box and the engine stumbled and picked up RPM. Checked the filter and it was dirty. So I run to the parts store, get a new air...

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

So I finally got to get it apart. Connector is actually the center one on the pcm not the far right or left that could be implied by the picture. I got .4 ohms from the connector to the relay. I removed all the connectors and sprayed them down with electrical contact cleaner. Put it back...

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

The relay doesn't click when cycling on/off of the climate control system. If I remove the relay it definitely clicks as I plug it back in. A/c on or off.

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

I have tried multiple relays in the fuse panel and no change. Could you check what the control voltage is in yours? Gonna check Friday when I get home and see if the control voltage is changing when the a/c is turned off/on. Gonna order a new relay.

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

Picture is not of the "right" relay. Its just a picture I took to try and getba pin out. Reds are 12v if I jump either to the green the clutch engages. I believe blue is the control from the computer. It was a very low voltage. I did not check I the the relay was clicking with turningthe a/c...

In forscan I dont see a test for climate or hvac modules

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

So if in forscan the pcm is saying the a/c should be on. Then the relay and both fuses are good. What could be the issue? Yesterday I replaced the transducer sensor. Physically removed the interior fuse panel to check all the fuses. I opened up the engine fuse panel found no issues there...

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

Ya I was hoping to find out what controls the relay circuit.

I am not sure but the computer is calling for the compressor to be on.

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

So the a/c has been working wonderfully for almost 2 years. In forscan the computer is requesting that the compressor/clutch turn on. But there is no power going to the clutch thru. There are 2 x 12v + at the relay. Pulling fuse 62 kills 1 of them, fuse 70 the other. Both 62 and 70 fuses are...

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

As it started to get winter I stopped dealing with the issue. The touch screen does show the correct temperature. I am ordering that sensor anyway. Gonna try to get the pressure sensor as well. Ill get forscan too. If that doesnt work its going to the dealer.

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

Cycling the a/c on and off in the car seems to trigger something. I spoke to the dealer parts guy he said his computer didnt show a evaporator temperature sensor. It did show a hheaer temperature control sensor. Wife has to go somewhere today but I can happily say its electronic. Thank you...

So it just magically started working.....I did nothing but go inside and pee.
  31. B

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

I can jump the relay socket and the compressor will start so I now know its what ever controls the clutch. Do you know where the evaporator sensor is? I fixed the starting issue or at least I think I did.
  32. B

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

I traced the wires all the way to the fuse box. Today I just replaced the a/c line. I always replace the sensor on the high side line with no effect. There is no low pressure switch on this a/c system.

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

So my wifes explorer has two issues. Back story we bought this used with just under 100k miles(106k) now. Had no issues for 6 months the the a/c clutch went out. So I replaced just the clutch. Worked great then failed after 2 weeks(bearing failure). So I said the hell with it and just got a new...

No power to the a/c clutch coil.

I have a feeling the coil on the magnet for the clutch has loosened. Its held via a snap ring. The compressor is a massive pain in the ass to remove. Extremely tempted to replace the entire damn system snd be done with it.
