Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread
If I had a shop, I would be fabricating a set soon. Maybe an entire engine cross brace that was removable with the engine mounts built in to the part that stays on the frame. It would give my HP axle more room for up travel without effecting ride height, be stronger, and you could remove the...- BKennedy

Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread
With the engine running, trans in park in the garage, I can hit the throttle and it twists more than that engine moves in the whoops. I was reading the video description and it did not mention anything about engine mounts, just bolt-on suspension upgrades. I wish someone other that Autofab...- BKennedy

How do you not have rusty fenders?
Rust?? Rust?? I have no rust?? I haven't even painted over the spots where the undercoating was burned off the bottom of the body when I welded in the cage plates many years ago.- BKennedy

Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread
I spent several hours over the past week trying to make a front cross brace for a transmission skid plate. The rear mount would be the trans cross member. It has to be roughly between the engine and trans. It would end up being one big trans / t-case skid plate in two parts. The problem is...- BKennedy

Big Bear camp n' crawl...take 2..July ??
Good deal for me, there is just too much going on around here. I have been working 12 hour days at the BIO Convention down here, am working at Petco Park tonight, then agreed to take a job tomorrow and Monday - Thursday next week. I know it sounds like a regular day at work for most of you...- BKennedy

rear axle swap
You can get the master cylinder at just about any auto parts chain, but usually its special order. You need the MC for a 1995 Explorer with no cruise control and no rear proportioning valve. I got one for my 94 with cruise and just plugged the sensor fitting with a 3/8" plug because I was in a...- BKennedy

5.0 Build Up
Have you done any suspension modifications? If not, that is where you should spend your money to make your Explorer more off-road worthy. The engine has plenty of power and would be last on my list if I wanted to make a capable off road vehicle.- BKennedy

Did you post a pic of the trans mount installed? Could you measure the distance from top to bottom, including mounts (bolt face to bolt face)? I want to see if I can use Brian1's mount as a direct replacement for my Synergy poly trans mount.- BKennedy

Arbitration would be for a case where there was any doubt of fault or amount of money to be paid if a civil suit was filed. I am not seeing that here since your truck was parked and unoccupied, and you have no basis for a civil suit since your insurance paid for your damages (except the...- BKennedy

Big Bear camp n' crawl...take 2..July ??
Now for the trails: Only trail I haven't done is Dishpan Springs. I would love to run that trail, but will go with whatever everyone else wants or thinks they can do. Maybe we could go out to the east end of John Bull and work our way back westerly and see how far we get. We could for sure...- BKennedy

97 xlt d44 sas
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, the 95 F-150 came with a TTB Dana 44, much like the Dana 35 of the 91-94 Explorer. You can't solid axle swap a axle that is not solid. You should spend a little time here; http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=63- BKennedy

I noticed my motor mounts were flexing a bunch recently and decided to replace them. No surprise as the are the original mounts. I searched all over for motor mounts with no luck. I ended up getting some OEM on Rock Auto because I am not paying $400 bucks for Autofabs. I remember Kirby went...- BKennedy

Thanks, but I think I got it fixed...:D. I jacked the body up until the limit straps raised the right side of the axle without the steering binding first. But, you never know until you hit the trail. If this doesn't take care of it, I will try the Spydertrax spacers.- BKennedy

Thanks, got it installed and bled the brakes (again). How to: Steering mod: Rag Joint to U-joint ZJ Shaft
That does not sound like your issue will be resolved by this modification. First, you need to find the problem. It sounds to me that you might have a loose or worn out tie rod end, but only if you can feel the movement through the wheel when it "clunks". This mod is for loose steering shafts...- BKennedy

Completed Project Kirby's 1991 Ranger Build Up
Yeah, like 93,500 pennies!! The reason I went with the JD arms are numerous, but the main one was I was not very confident in my fabrication skills when I started the SAS. I don't either, and looking on line, they are mounted all over the place. But, I wanted to be 100% sure. Its just in front of the rear axle and not in line with the tires, inside the frame up near the top of the rear of the gas tank. The valve is a Summit dial type, no gauge that I got...- BKennedy
