Cargo Tie Down
The only thing in can think of is to put some small "D" rings in the floor in front of the folded down seats and use the end of your e-track for the other side. There is no place to mount any hold downs on the back of the seats, they are just plastic under the carpet. Unless you pull the seats...- BKennedy

Let's compile a list of the ideal minimal tools to carry for first gens
Don't forget the spindle nut socket, and a 1-1/8" socket for the radius arm/coil spring nuts. A few long 1/2" drive extensions. 18mm socket (most socket sets don't come with it, and it seems to be needed for about half the larger bolts/nuts). Torque wrench could be taken in place of the...- BKennedy

Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread
Today, I R&R'd the shocks. Did not have time to charge them to see if the seals hold. It went fairly smoothly, I am just slow. Everything was harder to assemble, so I hope that means they sealed better. I had a funny incident while taking apart the new reservoirs. They sent them...- BKennedy

Hope the owner has insurance. They can only prosecute the driver if your neighbor can actually identify who was behind the wheel at the time of the collision. Owner is liable for damages to your vehicle. You sure its only the knuckle? I wonder if it pushed the entire left side back...- BKennedy

Smooth sexy Limited Edition Sliders. (hair brained)
Glad to see they held up. Two things: If you take that counter-balance thingy off the rear pumpkin, you gain a few critical inches of ground clearance with no side effects. I have had mine off for years. And..........your gas tank skid plate is way too straight, go out and put some...- BKennedy

Khris, I was looking at your photobucket pics and remembered you said you have a lot of positive caster in your Explorer. You are not kidding. The front tire leans over more than it turns. Does that make it turn better by keeping the tire from tucking under while going fast?- BKennedy

Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread
Design flaw. The seat flattens out when my big rear sits in it, which pushes against the latch, bending it over. Eventually, it breaks. I did not remove the old parts of the latch since it would have required more work than I was willing to do for a latch. I made the new latch so it would...- BKennedy

Yep. I let the vender I got the shocks through know what I was dealing with. He says if they still don't work out, he will give me a "smoking deal on some Fox or Radflo shocks." Another shameless plug for davesoffroadsupply.com. Great to deal with. He even offered to purchase the seal...- BKennedy

Serpentine Belt noise
The belt tensioner can go wrong in a few ways. One is the bearings in the tensioner pulley, the other is in the spring tensioner. If the belt is slipping, its usually the spring tensioner that is bad. I have replaced mine twice in 20 years and 160000 miles. They just wear out sitting there.- BKennedy

Back to the build; I posted this picture a while ago, it is the inside of the reservoir of one of the F-O-A shocks. As you can see, it is scored along its entire length, which means it was not honed or smoothed out in any way during manufacturing. You can feel the score marks with your...- BKennedy

Rear Shock Mount help
Except the Superlift mounts are weaker than what he has. They are not weld on, they sit on top of the axle using the bottom of the old spring perches to keep them centered. clunking sound when shifting from neutral.
What Bill said. Most likely a worn out U-joint. Get a long screw driver, crawl underneath your car. Stick screwdriver in U-joints and wiggle it so the drive shaft moves. Look for play in U-joints. Or, if they haven't ever been replaced, just go get another set and replace them. Fairly easy...- BKennedy

Serpentine Belt noise
My Explorer is a lot older than yours, but when my alternator bearings went bad, I replaced the alternator. Then, I immediately got a squeaking belt. Change differential fluid???
A buddy I know owns a transmission shop. He says you only need to change the fluid of the parts you don't want to replace. Tbars Project "X" begins
Has not been bad so far. I never broke a shock mount or bolt with the TTB, just dented some shock bodies because the radius arms would contact them at full droop. I think the double shocks help to spread the load out. I had the rear axle, leafs, and shocks out just prior to the SAS and it all...- BKennedy

If you really want me to make you up a set of frankenleafs I can. You supply the leafs and a few beers and it should take about an hour. Leaf Spring Bushing replacement
I got replacement bushings from National Spring in El Cajon, Ca for $15 each. Pressed them in / out with a ball joint press. power distribution box problem help! 94 sport
I'm with Rick on this. My Explorer was doing that and I replaced the fuel pump relay and it went away. I don't see how the panel could get warped inside the box enough to cause your problem. Powder coating superlift parts
For my leaf springs I used "Ez-Slide" graphite coating. It comes in spray cans. Used one can on each leaf. It really helped the leafs articulate, but its messy. If you use it, wear disposable gloves when handling as it rubs off easily. If shipping is cost prohibitive for powder coating...- BKennedy
