Bought Daughter a 2010 Ranger, She Paid it Off, Blew Engine, I Replaced Engine.......
I don't think so. Would be a cool little parts getter with a 5.0. As of now, it's parked behind the gate at my San Diego house. I'm busy out in Arizona, daughter is using my Silverado and looking for a full sized truck.- BKennedy

So when are we considered modified
I would consider a vehicle modified when whatever not stock things the owner did makes it work significantly better. It would have to be multiple modifications for me to consider it modified. Torsion twists, Intakes, tires, bumpers, etc., by themselves; not modified. All of those together...- BKennedy

Bought Daughter a 2010 Ranger, She Paid it Off, Blew Engine, I Replaced Engine.......
Thanks @410Fortune for another, much more viable option. He says that engine was in Escapes and Focus with a different intake. Same engine underneath. I'm now thinking of parking it for now, then deciding later. Probably will end up swapping the engine at a later date. Daughter has decided...- BKennedy

Bought Daughter a 2010 Ranger, She Paid it Off, Blew Engine, I Replaced Engine.......
There are no replacement engines available that make swapping worth it. They are all over $2,000, plus shipping. There are all kinds of 07-11 Ranger 4.0 V6's around locally for half the price. I sent 410Fortune a PM asking if the 2.3 and 4.0 share the same automatic transmission in a 2wd model...- BKennedy

Bought Daughter a 2010 Ranger, She Paid it Off, Blew Engine, I Replaced Engine.......
Plot twist. Daughter is attached to the Ranger. Her boyfriend texted me and said she wants to fix it. I told him to call the shop and get a real estimate, then call Indiana Truck Salvage in Corona and see if they have a replacement engine. If they do, buy it because it will have a warranty...- BKennedy

Bought Daughter a 2010 Ranger, She Paid it Off, Blew Engine, I Replaced Engine.......
She should have bought Stic-O's Bronco. No idea, maybe a few thousand at best. My brother works for a GM dealership. He said to change the oil with a thicker oil, see if it quiets the knock, then trade it in. The dealership will wholesale it because it's over 10 years old. I couldn't sell it...- BKennedy

Bought Daughter a 2010 Ranger, She Paid it Off, Blew Engine, I Replaced Engine.......
Daughter took it to the shop. The owner called and said it's rod knock. Basically the engine is shot. So now we have a few options: Find a replacement engine and swap it out, about $3,500 through a shop, or sell or trade it in with a bad engine. Since I'm in Arizona, she can drive my truck...- BKennedy

Bought Daughter a 2010 Ranger, She Paid it Off, Blew Engine, I Replaced Engine.......
Daughter says there is a rattle in the front of the engine and I'm in Arizona. Do 2.3l engines have timing chain issues? I think I'll have her take it to the one trusted shop I know of in San Diego.- BKennedy

Thats about the max flex from that tractor. It's the same on flat ground as anywhere else. I've been chasing a rattle under the Explorer for months. A small part of it was the cat hear shield. I drilled some more holes in it and used more bailing wire to tighten it against the cat flange...- BKennedy

Completed Project Kirby's 1991 Ranger Build Up
I have a master cylinder for a 1995, no cruise control, Explorer model. It works well. I have a NIB F-150 MC here. I never installed it because the bore is smaller than the Explorer MC, and that won't help build pressure. I think I have the same brakes as your rig, but I have 1976 T-Bird...- BKennedy

RV Update / Upgrade Thread
I put two coats of clear on the panel and it dried quickly. Figured I might as well put it together and be done. All the controls and displays are how I want them, and all the wiring reached the new locations. The panel doesn't look too bad since it's recessed into the door and almost always...- BKennedy

I'm working on the control panel redo. Has anyone bought "finish grade" plywood lately? It's crap. The veneer is paper thin. I bought a half sheet of 1/4" birch at Home Depot. When cutting it with a jigsaw or hole saw, the veneer starts to fragment because it's so thin. Luckily it only...- BKennedy

RV Update / Upgrade Thread
A few weeks ago I purchased a new trailer hitch riser. With the Explorer lift, I need to have the tow bar raised about 6" for it to be flat. The old one was a hollow shank, it's old and pretty beat. The receiver on the coach is the loosest I've come across and there is a lot of wiggle. I...- BKennedy

I decided to extend all the wiring using what I cut off yesterday. This way, I can have a remote wired switch. It will make it easier to use the pump to pull water from unpressurized sources, like my 7 gallon jugs, and not pull in a bunch of air which requires purging. The wiring is in...- BKennedy

Water pump switch relocation done. I traced the wires from the switch over the bathroom sink. They come out in the wet bay, directly above the new switch location. I cut the ends off and pulled them through the wire loom. They were actually about 3' too long for the new spot. I relocated the...- BKennedy

Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread
Not for a second jam nut. I always set up rod ends so there are only one or two rows of threads showing. The contact area of the nut and face of the RA appear to be flat. There is no wiggle in the threads. There is no reason for this one to loosen up and the other side stays tight. I'm not...- BKennedy

Yesterday, went for a very long drive. Drove from the property to Lake Mead's South Cove, north of Meadview. Only 222 months behind, sign me up. For the front skidplate; is there a way to bolt the lower panel under the upper instead of vice versa? Or, better yet, have them mount flush? It would help whatever got slammed into it slide right under without that overlapping lip on there.- BKennedy

Spent a few minutes looking at the sink switch wiring. The harness goes from/to the switch and straight down behind the under sink drawers. Solar is still working very well, even on rainy days. The only time I've ran the generator is for 30-45 minutes at a time for the every three day vacuum and clean up. I only do that because the vacuum pulls a lot of amps and it's good to run the genny on a regular basis. I checked the...- BKennedy
