VWbaja10 Intro
@VWbaja10 Nice. These should do the job, but do be warned that I've heard the OME's flatten out if you tow much with them. I can't speak from experience, just heard from other forum members. I believe it, though; these springs are really, really soft. I've got a flex pic linked below, if you...- DintDobbs

VWbaja10 Intro
@VWbaja10 Nice looking ride! I bet that 302 with 4.10's is a torque beast, eh? I've been abusing a set of those OME 1.5" lifted springs + 2" RTZ shackles on my Sport for a year or two now. I'll go ahead and say, they're worth the money, but you shouldn't expect to get the whole 1.5" out of...- DintDobbs

Project Vulture
@donalds I think that can be arranged, give me about a year to earn some vacation time, ha ha! The annoying matter here is that intermittent codes could be a fault in the wiring, a wiring harness, or individual components. Multimeters can only do so much, but pair one with a wiring diagram and...- DintDobbs

My 2002 Ford Explorer SPORT not Trac
@DarthLeon What information or resources are you looking for? In general, everything should be mechanically and electrically the same between Sport and Sport Trac, unless you want rear seats or a rear windshield wiper, taillamps, or maybe the rear leaf springs. In any case, you've come to the...- DintDobbs

(Dual post also in Hazey's thread.) I swapped Hazey's suspect G-switch into The Vulture to test it. First test drive: The Vulture. Ran to parts store, scanned for ABS codes. Pretty sure it was hooked up correctly, because it still pulled The Vulture's OBDII DTC's fine, but The Vulture's ABS...- DintDobbs

Well, I've run into a problem. I swapped Hazey's G-switch for the "known good" one from the Vulture to see what happened. First test drive: The Vulture. Ran to parts store, scanned for ABS codes. Lift questions
@jamie8470 I can't speak for the larger 3rd-gens, but on my 2nd-gen, the 33" is a bigger tire than I have ever needed. @Fix4Dirt said almost everything I have to say; be warned that any gears taller than 3.73's will make the transmission struggle with the weight of a 32"+ tire, and any gears...- DintDobbs

Rear hatch alignment help
@hafcanadian Incidentally, on both of my Explorers, there is a noticeable difference in the gap on the upper half of the tailgate between the left side and the right side; the right side sits farther away from the body than the left side. However, this gap difference does not interfere with the...- DintDobbs

Rear hatch alignment help
@hafcanadian Hmm, I've got a similar problem with the right side of my Sport (was in a rear-end collision before I got it), but a good slam latches mine correctly. I'd do as @BKennedy said, as well as measure the position of the pin/bolt/stud/whatever-you-call-it in relation to the rear end of...- DintDobbs

@donalds Thanks-o, you the man! That's what I've been looking for. G-switch is the magic word I didn't know. Well, since I'm ordering parts for The Vulture soon, I'm ordering parts for Hazey too. @DemonMudder Thanks, I'm gonna need it! One thing that confuses me still, is that the ABS seems to function correctly, despite the rear center VSS and the right front WSS both reporting faults (C1230 and C1234, respectively). Shouldn't this interfere with the ABS functioning? Whatever, though...- DintDobbs

@DemonMudder Yeah, gave me some thing to think about. Day Night sensor fell into dash
@trailblazr81 Sounds like a happily-ever-after is in order! One thing to be wary of, though, if all fluids were changed recently, that's either just good consideration before selling, or an indication that all fluids were ignored until the pre-sale check was made. @CallMeSyd Well, know that you're being prayed for, buddy. High Flow Cat Install question 4.0 SOHC
@Mbrooks420 I usually don't reset my running average, unless I take it to a garage (excessive time spent at idle) or the battery is disconnected (force resets it any way) and it nearly always returns to 21.0-22.0. Frankly, I'm not really concerned with how accurate it is, but I can say with...- DintDobbs

@rushing098993 You asked two questions here, before making your statement, and I never made any insinuation that you were stupid. @73wM That's one fine-looking 3rd-gen, I'm with @2020FordRaptor on this one. One of the best-looking 3rd-gens on the forum, easily. The body-matching roof rack and mirrors make it look smooth. @CDW6212R When I was at the junk yard a while back, I grabbed a bunch of 'em, just in case this happened.
