Front park assist recurring error
it might be less than shop rate, but when it's bim bam done - it's still profit. isn't it? I mean the dealer isn't out anything. tech knocks it out in under book time anyway - and neither the manager nor the tech really "wants" to do the troubleshooting. happens all the time around...- Napalm

reason why they are hesitant. you are willing to keep bringing it to them. for some 30 minutes of actual work, they charge Ford 2-4 hours of warranty repair on a brand new car. cha-ching each time you pull up. Please, please call Ford and complain - Hopefully the ford customer service crew...- Napalm

Steering shaking when braking
so on some more performance oriented cars this is a real thing. I think all audi's now per the shop manuals tell the shops to full replace the rotors. but again - everyone specs differently. But yes any decent measurement - and someone that can run the machine right - can re-true a rotor...- Napalm

2016 Explorer Throttle Body Problems
Gm went though something awhile back on their early Throttle By Wire V8's - where the throttle body drive motors would either report the wrong location, or would get some offset in position data. when the computer senses an error - it goes into protection mode, and in some cases shut the engine...- Napalm

almost exactly like mine. does the ford manual call for a runout check? now I'm curious. I say that because this is the first FWD car I've owned in some 16 years that I'm intending to do any MX on.- Napalm

Downshifting issue - especially on hills
So in the design of the algorithim that is in the computer controlled transmission they have gotten significantly more complicated. I use grease on them. lightly - very lightly. and make sure it's only on the ends - never on the pad material or the rotor. and I thin coat a touch on the backs of the pads - just to combat any squeek or noises there. never had a problem in years.- Napalm

the modern fluid, by the way has a synethic polymer base so it is able to live for far longer than the old mercon or Dex 4 fluids of yesteryear. OH notice there wasn't mention of the coolant. Yes it can live for around 5 years or 100K miles. I am a firm believer is getting that first run...- Napalm

So modern auto trans are actually designed to be flushed by machine. HOwever they still have a filter screen as well. TO that end - I highly suggest at least once by 60K miles or 5 years, pan and filter drop and new fluid. then again is about the same interval but you could roll out more...- Napalm
