Jade Pearl Update/Build Log
Indeed, thankfully dont need it crazy often anymore since I haven't been able to get out much lately, but definitely gotta be careful if I do, I wanted to go synthetic anyway, safer if it breaks- DemonMudder

Jade Pearl Update/Build Log
Fully pulling and re-wrapping my winch this afternoon, and this is a fun find in the cable...its a good ways in so im sure as long as I dont get too close to it, its probably fine, but just means sooner than later I gotta get a new synthetic line, nicer than the steel anyway. Finally got my...- DemonMudder

Sweet! So hoping I can make it this year! I definitely appreciate that and look forward to it! Based on how well a 4.10 does even with 37s on the rado, I'm definitely excited to see how well they do on the 32s! Especially after the couple of extra horses i should be making now! That's fine...- DemonMudder

And so, the revival pt.2 begins..! Was gonna use mom's 2500hd to tow it due to the weight being around 6400-6600lbs, but somehow the ol' girl did it happily, even with tranny issues of its own! So the X is finally at the shop and as of today being taken apart for rebuilding! They estimate it...- DemonMudder

Well, I still wanna try, but I may have to be October instead if at all. Having to take a good bit of time off on September for something family related, so most of that month is gone and August may still be a smidge busy for me to get too much time off. But August may work, just want to give...- DemonMudder

Jade Pearl Update/Build Log
Fun new project I"ve been messing with and planning. Those 3" green marker lights I threw in the hitch, now I have a set for each rear fender, need to wire them in, deciding if I want to make them a separate toggle or wire then into the rest of my DRLs.. but anyway, theyre on and look pretty...- DemonMudder

All I will say, is just please make sure its not covering labor day if at all possible, not as likely to be able to get that day off. But mid to late September otherwise should be just fine with for us!- DemonMudder

Glad ya got everything done and its running so good again! Well I'm just gonna keep on the low schedule wise for the next month or so, probably won't be till mid to late next month before I get the explorer into the shop. So if I remember right, people suggested using a 1354 transfer case since the 4406 is for the 5.0. Anyone got experience with the electric one, making it work, or know if it makes it actual 2wd? Or worth just finding the 1354m and making the manual one work? A long ways out, but if it's a worthy...- DemonMudder

Cummins Gas Engine?!
Honestly I'm curious to know it's mileage, they managed to keep the hp to torque ratio of a diesel about the same, so is the mileage any better than your usual inline 6 gasser and what not? Honestly I have to agree for the typical build! Though it would be fun to say I have a cummins in...- DemonMudder

Cummins Gas Engine?!
So apparently cummins is releasing their first gas powered engine, and holy crap are the specs on it awesome! Supposedly releasing it among smaller trucks next year, but it looks to have some promise! 200-300hp and 600-660ft-lbs of torque, suckers a beast for a gasser! Anyone else getting ideas...- DemonMudder

Yep, guess I'll just pay the $2700 for the other for sure fit one, damn. Easier than swapping in a next gen 5r55 or current 4r55 I guess. Dang, spend more but hopefully take less effort and time.- DemonMudder

So the 4 may last longer due to putting less stress on the od band then I'd guess, while keeping similar rpms in the end. Noticeable change in mileage swapping to the 4?- DemonMudder

And it's not that funky double overdrive like the 5r55e? So Same final ratio, possibly one less OD, one less gear to lose. Any perks to the 4 vs the 5?- DemonMudder

Yep, a few people have made a couple threads on a 6r60 swap, due its changes in build and connections, it's vastly different and would take plenty of work and probably a standalone controller to even make work a lil' bit. If I ever think about doing a 4.6l or 5.0 V8 swap, maybe I'll consider it...- DemonMudder

The 3rd gen did have a 6 speed option. @amj441 i appreciate the dipstick bit, definitely want that! I would hope there's still a hole so you can still fill the tranny somehow. I dunno then, this is why I'm asking, cheaper than some of the others I've found and delivers sooner, but claims to fit the next gen. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/603046/10002/-1- DemonMudder

Anything stopping me from using a 5r55e from the next gen explorer? Just out of curiosity Also anyone know of anyone managing a 6r60 swap perhaps?
