My First Explorer, 2000 EB
Those Stupid P0401 codes are such a pain! Really there should be a aftermarket system for EGR stuff on these old cars that just replaces everything that needs to be done and blocks off all the nonsense that really does not work.- rpenner54

Ran it around this weekend, added some antifreeze got it all up and burped out. I am thinking the CPS is probably shot. I will need to learn how to do that swap as is sounds complicated.- rpenner54

Yeah it is still active! Funny you should mention the coolant level as it was low. I filled it, but probably need to get some more. I only had about 1/2 gallon to put in. I will double check that here soon. As far as the lid goes, I can run up to the salvage yard here and get one, I just...- rpenner54

Completed Project Brian1's Twin Trail Build (Lift, Gears, TTB Mods, Bumpers, Sliders, Cage & More!)
Love it! I am sure whatever it is will be well thought out and way cool. Getting all the ducks to line up just right can take time, and then sometimes they get out of line. :p  I was hoping you might take the rear hatch and make some barn doors out of it for the lower. Sort of like...- rpenner54

The Black Hole
Doors on but open. It made it so much easier to get everything up. I think I may have even used my jack to lift up the trans and then just hooked the hoist to it and was able to move it up and down and all that easier that way.- rpenner54

I used my engine hoist in the hole of the body to lift the trans up and then used the rolling jack to push it around on my old truck.- rpenner54

Betty's "I want to be a mule" progress log thread
Mine has 275K miles on it. I have put on maybe 100 miles on it since I bought it. I have no idea of the history, I have started changing out some of the under hood stuff and some of it is original. Who knows how long this thing has sat and idled. My guess for the cats is, this is a 20 year...- rpenner54

It's amazing what I see running around this state on trucks or trailers. What did you ever end up doing with your exhaust system? I have a feeling my cat's are plugged and probably need to be replaced.- rpenner54

This guy is looking old. With 275k on it I am guessing it needs to be changed. Also going to swap out the alternator since I am reading 13 volts while driving. Has a bit of a hesitation.- rpenner54

Got the shackles in took it around town. It's still got a slight idle issue that I need to take care of. Guessing that I should just replace all the o2 sensors and all the other ear junk as well. I am also planning on getting the whole exhaust re done as I think the cats are probably done...- rpenner54

2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins - Titan Fuel Tank Installation
You will love this! My dad and I did this on his 2014 F250 and now he doesn't have to stop all the time to fill up the small tank. I think it was 26 ish gallons and he got the 50 gallon replacement. It was a bear to get in due to clearance. Took his to the dealer to get the stock gauge reset...- rpenner54

KS Rocks (again)
I would love to make it but have to get some other things sorted out on my rig. Seems to have a misfire once in a while and a bad alternator and battery. That and I need to finish up some other things. I am trying real hard to get it going.- rpenner54

2.3l ecoboost 4 cyl swap into 2000 Ranger

Has anyone ever?
Hmmm... Now you got me thinking. You are correct 4 inches back would still be good for me though. I always wanted my rear axle to be further back on my old stuff. I felt like it would help with center of gravity and some of the weird moments like the pic under my name. :) I am not at this...- rpenner54

I got the last shackle off. However it didn't come off nice. I have emailed the contact info at https://thesuspensionking.com/index.php?route=common/home to see if I can get some bushings. He seems to sell them for a few bucks a piece. Better then paying $70 for some rubber.- rpenner54

My son in law made these. Got one old one out tonight. The other was stuck good. I think my shocks/away bar are keeping me from full droop as I had to jack the spring between it and the frame to get some movement. I believe the shocks look stockish.- rpenner54

Have you thought about out boarding the ear spring like a ranger now that your going full width? It would drop the rear down some but it might make you a bit more stable?- rpenner54

Did some more little projects with this today. Painted the front grill. Installed a stereo. Cranked the torsion bars up. Got rid of the steps. Ran my odb2 reader on it to see what all is happening. Got p0340 p1401 p1000 p1780 p1116. It's also got a pretty decent oil leak coming from the back...- rpenner54

Has anyone ever?
Tried to "flip" their rear spring back to front? I have read that these leaf springs have the center bolt two inches forward. If you were able to swing them the other way your rear axle would be 2" back which could help fit a slightly bigger tire without as much trimming up front by the door...- rpenner54

Rear door latches?
Yeah both handles were totally broken. The actuator was totally missing as well. I had to open up the other door just to see how things are hooked up. Things were just hanging off not hooked up. This one is a struggle just to get all the links figured out since it was hacked up.- rpenner54

Rear door latches?
Yeah there is a broken spring in this one that has it pretty jammed. I cut the hole so I could see what was going on. The front doors are easy compared to the rear. The rear have this dumb child lock that I think is also not helping anymore. I will have to run to the junkyard and see if I...- rpenner54
