    Noticed coolant leaking, reservoir empty.

So, as the title says I was doing a bunch of front end work today. The new tie rod end solved the bonking noise I got when moving the steering wheel back and forth at a stop, which is great and a safety issue fixed! :hammer: I just noticed working in the dark finishing up here that there is...

TPMS sensor frequency choice steel rims US 2014 XLT

I've bought 4 used wheels (steel) for my first dedicated set of winter tires this year. 2014 XLT. My vehicle has the TPMS sensors, but I'm not sure which frequency, 315 or 433 MHz. I am in the US and all 4 used rims had various brands of 315 MHz sensors. What sensor type should I buy? Is there...

Steeda springs (555 8202) vs Sport explorer springs (DB5Z-5310-K) in my XLT with B6 install

I have a 2014 XLT towing package with 20" wheels. I am doing a bunch of suspension (control arms front/rear, struts/shocks, steeda rear sway bar) work because my stock motorcraft stuff is worn out and is now really apparent (ball joint movement, bushings movement) with the brand new tires on...

What Color Code "silver" for roof rails on a 2014 explorer?

Hi. Looking here at part number BB5Z-7855114-BA. Its the silver-painted roof rack side rail. What is the color code for this silver? My best guess from sherwin williams is either silver metallic, sparkle silver metallic, sterling silver metallic, or foundry grey metallic. Anyone ever figure...

Liftgate backup camera trim/housing with washer part numbers

What are the part numbers or names on these 2016 or whenever 5th generation explorers that have washing jets aimed at the rearview camera? Two videos below show what I'm talking about. I can't seem to find an expanded view with the part I want on Ford's site under either the backup camera or the...

    CEL code 2196 2198 oxygen sensor(s) 1

So, it was Sunday night last week 6:00 PM, about to drive from Detroit to Washington, D.C. the next morning, my biggest longest haul in this vehicle yet. I'm filling up the tank, topping the washer fluid, checking oil and coolant levels, tire pressure, ready to rock. Run to the grocery store and...

help me identify this loading area/liftgate trim piece I broke

I smashed some of the plastic trim in the lift gate area loading wood into the back. Lame. I'm having trouble identifying it on the ford parts website. Half the time the site is inaccessible and then when it is, minutes later, I can't figure out what this is called or where it falls under. In...

What is this wire thing? Is it from my Explorer?

I found this wire and connector or sensor thing on the end of it next to my vehicle in the driveway gravel this morning. Is it possibly from my explorer? Is it the end of an ABS sensor (wild guess)? I have no idea and am just firing this off to see if someone maybe recognizes the wire color or...

2014 front windshield defogger is forced air only?

Just checking that the front windshield in my 2014 indeed does NOT have a wired resistance heat type of defogger. Just the forced air defrost from the HVAC system? But the rear window does have the heated wire type of defogger. If so, do any explorers have a wired heat front windshield? Thanks all.

Apparent Exhaust Leak and Gasket/Manifold Replacement Questions

The other day I noticed a ticking sound that was changing with engine speed and really apparent when accelerating while driving with the windows up. Further examining at home seems to indicate the sound coming from the front (radiator) side of the engine. It sounds like I'm hearing the firing of...
