    My build log: project PIA

Yeah, back at it. But my new job has it put on hold for about three more weeks or so. This training takes up every second of my day. We're talking 3-4 hours of sleep a night kinda suck. It's cool though. The paychecks will be worth it. The Ex will get some serious lovin'.

Agreed. The C clamps are giving me a run for my monies. I had to use zip ties to hold them in place while I got a couple threads in. Now, after they are all tightened, they are uneven. Booooo. So, 50/50 shot at what side is wrong, I don't want to have to do this again soon. I start a pretty...

But probably not. I did however get all the front brackets bolted in. That was a P.I.A. in itself. Tomorrow: find and apply lith grease to C bushings, install clamps and RA's, install RA brackets to frame, blah blah blah. We'll see. Goodnight.

So... Made a little bit of progress today. I think the hardest part was getting the bronco out of the backyard by myself. With flat tires. And then trying to stop it. Now to get it around the Exploder and into the garage so I can clean it and prep it. Hopefully tomorrow or...

Not a chance on the lathing. We have guns for that. Plus they cost a fortune. The squirrels brought their own demise down on themselves. I caught them in the engine bay one to many times. The end.

Hey there!! Sorry about the waaaay late response! Lol! Sadly though, my dash still looks almost exactly like that! I was running down to the wire in time and funds, so the dash had to take a backseat to the mechanical progress of the swap at the time. That being said, all I did was blast it with...

    Dually explorer?

Man... why is everybody hatin' on this guy? If you don't like it, don't do it to your rig. I hate the color yellow, doesn't mean I tell a guy he's a moron for wanting to paint his rig mustard. Personal preference bro, do whatever makes you like your rig more and if YOU think it sucks, change it...

    '92 Explorer is falling apart.

Hey man! I saw your rig parked at the curb today and wasn't sure if you were a part of this forum! I don't know anyone else from bako with an Explorer. Hit me up sometime to hang out or do some wheeling! I also have a few spare parts that will fit your rig, so if something breaks, check with me...

Hey guys! Thanks so much for all the help! Fox, I appreciate that offer man! I went to the locals and all they had were non-ABS and 2nd gen stuff. I ended up scoring one from Mark (Maniak) and got it installed yesterday! I think I over-tightened the bearing inner-locknut though. Does anybody...

Girl needs help getting spindle nut loose

Good idea with the smaller socket. Also, try tightening it a little first, then loosening. And if you let the fumes die out from the brake clean, you should be fine. If the smaller socket starts to strip as well, weld the socket directly to the nut, being careful not to get any slag on the...

Girl needs help getting spindle nut loose

Also, try a short pipe slid over the ratchet handle. It can help with more torque against the nut.

Girl needs help getting spindle nut loose

Try heating the nut with a torch or equivalent. Maybe try a hammer and a flat head screwdriver. It's also possible that the bearing has welded itself to the nut due to friction. Keep us informed and good luck!:salute:

How much performance out of 302 throttle body?

 I'm not sure if the length of the intake tube matters so much ( within reason ) as far as the capability to suck air is concerned... its more about atmospheric pressure, or something to that effect, and the smoothness of the interior surface... I think... I wish I would have paid more...

Just a couple of pics of the mud... Kinda weak. Right after I blasted a couple of mud holes, I hit a huge pit of what I thought was mud, but turned out to be a monster water hole. It blasted a tidal wave of water over the Ex and hydro-locked the engine and washed off a bunch of the mud. That's...

Thou shalt no try to fly your truck

Just a vent line. I suggest running a longer rubber hose from the front and rear axles and the trans to a new location under the hood... just to keep water/mud, etc. out. I learned this trick the hard way! And Whitetrash96, you made it sound so easy to just hammer those rivets out after you...

Well guys, looks like I'm out. I've tried everything I can to get out there, but the wife is pregnant and her hormones said I can't come out and play. The baby is due in December, so hopefully I can make next year. I was really looking forward to meeting all of you too.

Ok... With that info in my head, will my taillights not fit, or just look stupid? Cause I have mastered the art of looking stupid and I can deal with it! :-) If they won't fit, can I use 2nd gen taillights on a 1st gen rig?
