    Whooping noise from 06 Mountaineer

Thread revival! Has anyone found the cause, or fix, for this noise? My 2007 has been doing this for the last few months. Sounds like the same problem...random whoop noise and sometimes a groaning sound from the left side rear. I'de love to get this figured out because it's quite annoying.

    Adding Ford OEM Running Boards

My wife wanted them on the truck, so she and my daughter could get in and out easier. Pretty practical reason I thought.

    Oil change required

There are instructions on how to reset the indicator, and also how to set the oil change interval to the mileage of your choice, in your owner's manual. Check it out. I've reset my interval as well.

    fuel door cover

What year F-150 is it supposed to fit? I just checked my '05 F-150 and the fuel door is different from my '07 Explorer. The F-150 fuel door is over an inch smaller in diameter and attaches to the body differently than the Explorer. A door for an F-150 won't fit your Ex. Not sure about...

    07 Ironman grill

I've got an '07 Ironman too! Good choice. Once the new Sport Trac comes out, you should be able to find the grill at any of the online Ford parts warehouses. The only trouble will be making sure it will fit the Explorer. The Adrenaline grill does look nice...may need to look...

    Adding Ford OEM Running Boards

Got 'em on I had to take the Explorer in to the dealer this week to fix a broken latch on the rear hatch window, and I brought the running boards with me. I wasn't optimistic, but to my surprise they got them on without breaking anything. I checked when I picked it up and all the brackets are...

    Adding Ford OEM Running Boards

Thanks for the reply. There must be a difference in the AC lines from 06 to 07. I removed a total of 7 brackets holding the lines down and still could not get them to move enough. The problem seems to be where the lines cross over between the body and the frame at the rear of the truck...

    Adding Ford OEM Running Boards

I'd like to add Ford OEM black running boards to my 2007 Explorer. I bought the boards and the install looked pretty straight forward, but I ran into a problem. My truck has the plastic frame hiders and rear AC. Ford routed the hard AC lines down the passenger side of the truck, in the body...

    Stock Sub

Also, does anyone know of a good place to get a stock subwoofer enclosure? I'll use my own sub and amp, but I need the enclosure. I've searched the web with no luck so far. Not even on Ebay.

    Smartlock Feature

I just checked the Owner's Manual for my '07, and the procedure using the key and door lock switches is the same as listed above. There are also two other DIY ways to disable the autolock system. Keyless entry keypad method (pg 140): 1. Close all doors and rear window and ensure ignition...

    07 Ironman

Welcome aboard! I just picked up an 07 Explorer Ironman edition too. Haven't noticed too many others around here. Maybe they'll chime in. Post some pics when you can. As far as the tires, they should fit the wheels fine. They are about 1" wider and 1.5" taller than the stockers. I'm...

    Check Engine light

What is the KAM power supply? I would think that if there were a problem with the computer ground or computer power supply I would be having more systemic issues than just an intermittent CEL. I'm not really sure what to do with it though. I'd hate to spend the money and replace O2 sensors...

    Check Engine light

Those codes were KOER codes taken after the truck was driven at highway speed for two hours. That was the first time that the CEL stayed on long enough for me to get home and run a test. It usually goes off before I get home, and the light does not come back on when the engine is restarted...

    Check Engine light

My 95 started doing this too, only after driving at highway speeds for a few hours. The CEL will come on and go off...seemed random and when I checked the codes, the system passed. The engine seemed to be running normally, with no symptoms of anything wrong. But Sunday night I was driving for...

    High Rear Brake Light

I would agree...it sounds like the brake light switch. The switch is near the top of the brake pedal bar somewhere and is a cheap and easy fix.

Craftsman wrenches vs. Husky - which are better?

I've got a mix of Craftsman, Snap On, and Proto tools in my box (mostly Craftsman). For the weekend do-it-yourselfer, I find that the Craftsman tools are all that I really need. The quality is good enough and it is easy to go to the Sears and get a replacement if need be. I think that the...

    turn signal idea

New Toyota Tacoma's are set up like that too. There are small amber lights up next to the headlights which serve as the parking lights. The turn signals are in the bumper and only com on when the turn signals are on. I don't think there will be any problems with legality as long as the single...

    hey houstonians!!!

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Nice hood ornaments!! Either I couldn't read or couldn't tell time. I logged on at about 3:30pm to get the directions to the Hooters, thinking the meet was in the evening like last time, only to notice that I was already 2 hours late. :banghead: I wish I...

    Cruse Control Button Cover

It is possible to get the rubber covers back on without removing the airbag or the switches. I have done it 3 times on each switch! I will admit, it's pretty tough and frustrating to get them back on. You'll just have to keep working at it. The little lip all the way around the inside back...

Solved Torsion Bar 101, Everything you Need to look for!

Check for the code under the spring section of the door sticker, denoted "SPR" if I remember right. The first letter is the front spring (torsion bar) code, the second letter is the rear spring code. I've also heard that the code is stamped in the front side of the torsion bar. At the front...

    hey houstonians!!!

I should be able to make the 15th. Doesn't matter where to me, as long as someone can tell me how to get there.

    Driveshaft questions.

I would suspect the vibration is from the driveshaft as a result of your lift. The 1 inch of shiny metal you see is there because the rear axle was moved farther away from the truck. This pulls the driveshaft out of the tranny a bit to make up for the movement (it's normal operation of the...

    Burns My Socks Here sometimes!!

I have mixed feelings about this topic. My first post to this board was about a flashing O/D light--a silly newbie question that probably could have been answered with a search. But I got useful answers from the members and I appreciated it. It helped me fix the problem. :D I like to post...
