    Dead Battery? Odd Electrical Problem

Certainly would hold true depending on the amperage of the running vehicles battery and the current and voltage required to turn the starter in the other vehicle, however I've jump started a couple vehicles without batteries just to get them driveable to move them around the property. Again...

    Dead Battery? Odd Electrical Problem

Solenoid maybe, should have started no problem with a boost regardless of your battery if nothing else was wrong.

Up to what year were mainfold gasket leaks an issue ?

I'm assuming they remedied some of the main issues by a certain model year. My wife drives an 00 EB SOHC so I was wondering about this and also same question for the chain tensioners and guides. Did they also fix this issue by a particular model year?

Where to find factory amp on 2000 EB?

Any ideas where it is located, it's the Mach factory stereo, with the sub and 6 disc changer. Seems like the amp is dead and I'd like to replace it myself so my wife can listen to some music again in her X.

    truck not starting / stalling

The problem I'm having with my wife's X is similiar but not the same. It won't start occasionaly on the first turnover, but if you depress the gas once and wait and few seconds and try again it starts right up and then idles perfectly and runs as normal. This would'nt seem to be the IAC valve...

    IAC question

Well it feels like an explorer, but runs like a sports car. Only complaint I have so far with it is the poor gas mileage. Mostly because I'm always in town and hard on the gas showing off. But other than that I've pulled out two jimmy's, a silverado, and a suburban stuck in the ditch after a...

    IAC question

My wife's EB 2000, SOHC. I did a search and came up with IAC valve, however it starts fine 90% of the time, the weather has been getting very cold and periodically it won't start unless you give it a little gas, once it does start it runs and idles just like new. The other IAC problems I've...

    Dealer Replacing V8 motor @ 20k - some Q's

Maybe the explorer is limited with a governor but the aviator needle can be buried, trust me. That engine has an enormous amount of go. What would be the point of limiting a 300Hp DOHC engine at 120? Maybe some are set up with a limiter but as far as I could tell with the needle at 5:00 she...

    Dealer Replacing V8 motor @ 20k - some Q's

4.6L DOHC puts you back in your seat After driving the aviator for a while I finally got the chance to let her out on a flat open space with nobody around. All I can say is wow. It literally pins you to your seat throughout the entire power band. I hit 160 mph and scared myself to the point...

    catalatic converters?

Check your fuel cap. You should hear pressure release when you take the cap off. If you don't I would think you may have a bad cap or losing pressure somewhere in the fuel system.

    Dealer Replacing V8 motor @ 20k - some Q's

5.0L pinging I feel the pain, my old limited with the V8 was pinging all the time after 30 000 miles. Dealer said nothing wrong, don't worry about it. Well by 35 000 my check engine light came on and within minutes the engine seized and quit. It was later determined to be faulty specs on the...

    new aviator

mods Well it may sound crazy but I was flirting with the idea of supercharging the engine. It has more than enough power right now, but I'm always looking for more with my vehicles. Rims sound good I'm not too crazy on the stock ones.

    new aviator

options To be honest it is exhorbantly too expensive for what you get. A few more options inside that are not available on explorers and a 300 Hp engine for about 20K more than a limited X. But she does ride nice.

aviator availability They are quite expensive and consequently not many dealers have them on the lot. I ordered mine from the factory 6 months ago.

    new aviator

I can't find a board for aviators so I thought I would join this one. I used to own an X limited 5 litre but traded it in on a new aviator. It sure has balls, but I won't be doing much offroading with it.
