no, injectors for sure. I put new rockers on since the old ones had worn down and making niose. I guess in hinesight prob. should have put new rods in too.

Thanks jd. I guess I did not do a very good job, (first timer ). going to redo and this time do the valve seals. BTW, injectors are really niosy now any ideas?

Similar problem on my 4.0, but i did not use new head bolts, what do you mean by stretch bolts?

After replacing head and exhaust gaskets, 90 ranger 4.0. started to get blue smoke. runs smooth. but the injectors are louder than before the work. Sugestions any one?

oh yeah the freeze plug only had a small pinhole.

I did an experiment with jb weld. I mixed the weld and took two pieces of aluminum foil, cut to the diameter of the plug. i put the weld on the freeze plug and sandwiched the foil on to it. lightly pressed to get a seal. then i sandwiched another piece of foil with weld. smoothed it out to get a...

Hello newbe here, my 94' hesitates going into drive, did yours do that before you changed the modulator?

I was thinking about that modulator also. my 94 only pings when hot or under load, more ping w/ a/c on. do you have any pics of the modulator? the pping is driving me off a CLIFF........
