Sounds like they humped up either the guides or forgot to put the "shower Caps" on the Valve stems.

Did they replace the Guides or just knurl the existing?

new gides i got the old ones back in a box when the were done
im hoping they did not *&&^ up they were the only place in town that people say are any good

Go back and talk to them.

If they did not put the Valve Caps on, They can Fill the piston with air, pull the Valve spring off and put the Caps on. Head does not need to come off.
New Guides should prevent leak down...not cause it. You didn't have any radical work done to them so I'm guessing it's the Caps.

I hope

with how much work it is to pull the valve covers you might as well pull the dam heads off

With all teh exhaust hardware being fresh, yeah, probably right.

Except aren't the Head bolts "Stretch Bolts" you need new ones?

I'd drive it there and let then see what's going on.

Similar problem on my 4.0, but i did not use new head bolts, what do you mean by stretch bolts?

they are made to stretch and shrink.you cant re use them.i have heard of people reusing them and blowing head gaskets down the road

i had to do this to xeeks motor, thing to note is that the AC box had to come out to get my spring compressor on the back two springs

Thanks jd. I guess I did not do a very good job, (first timer ). going to redo and this time do the valve seals. BTW, injectors are really niosy now any ideas?

You mean rockers

no, injectors for sure. I put new rockers on since the old ones had worn down and making niose. I guess in hinesight prob. should have put new rods in too.

After putting some thought into this. I think I will purchase a rebuilt motor and do a swap.

Maybe I can find someone in Vegas that is good with X's motors.
