Does it give off a strong fuel smell when the engine was able to start? If it does, try disconnecting the coolant temperature sensor (not the one that goes to the gauge cluster but the other that goes to the computer). It could have gone bad and is internally grounding itself.

Seems like the computer still thinks the truck is cold, thus flooding it. The CTS, coolant temp sensor, going to the computer could be faulting. Just an idea though.

The fox body Mustangs never came with individual coils. You'd either have to convert it to distributor or, I believe, you can buy a driver kit that allows the Mustang computer to run individual coils.
