    Vibration/Noise driving me crazy

I have a 99 EB ex and it has sudenly developed the most anoying vibration noise. The noise occurs when I accelerate and am between 2-2.5 rpm's. I had the dealer look at when it was in for something else and the mechanic said he thought it was the cam chain or timing chain. I thought back and...

    Ford Service making $$$$$$$

re: I had my fronts done. (Calipers, rotors, pads) at about 80K (50K miles) and it cost me $500.00 cdn. The Ford mechanic told me that the rotors on these things are crap and that I was lucky to have gotten this far on them.

Ok. I am an idiot but.....

This has to be the stupidest thing that I have done (lately). A few weeks ago I notice that there is a dent in the hood about the size of a nickel as I look closer I notice that there are 8-10 more of these little beauties. I get pissed and run into the house to acuse my wife of dropping...

    Remote Start and security system

I just got a Ford remote starter kit. Part # 1L3Z-19G364-AA. I believe that this is for the 2001 model's. Is it possible to use this in a '99 Eddie Bauer. It's brand new and was free so I would like to use it if possible. Also anyone know the warranty implications? thanks

Explorers, Repairs, Dealers, & the 100,000 Mile Myth

sorry I'm, not sure how to quote. But I don't agree with the company dictating to the dealers how it they conduct business. The dealers are not franchisee's in the way that Macdonald's are franchises they may or may not opt to any or all of the company initiaitves. In many cases they are...

Explorers, Repairs, Dealers, & the 100,000 Mile Myth

You guys have to realize that you are taking about to very different issues here. 1. Dealer Service. A dealership generates the bulk of it revenue and profit from service. They are privately run companies and the Dealer Principal(or his philosophy) is the what dictates whether the service is...

    Seat question....

    Seat question....

Wow...I can't believe it is such a common problem. LOL....Misery loves company. It is such a little thing but it really ticks me off. Stuff that just should not happen on a almost 50K truck (Canadian New). I actually work closely with Ford on the marketing side. I am going to see who I can...

    Deep snow, no problem

I know what you mean. Up here in Southern Ontario we have had a beast of a winter and I take my Explorer out every snowfall just for the fun of it. My road never gets plowed until 8-10 hours after the snow falls and I just blast around. I had it up to my bumpers getting through my father in...

    Seat question....

I have a '99 Eddie Bauer which I really like, with one exception. The drivers seat "rocks" slightly whenever it is in any position(Power) other than it's lowest or it's highest. I have had a dealer look at it and they said without taking the seat right out (which look difficult do to the power...
