Push button start can be turned off while driving!,,

You can have an opinion one way or the other on whether you think this is a safety issue. The reality is, there are situations where you would want to shut the engine down while moving. For example, if you have an engine fire, you need to shut down the engine immediately to prevent fuel from...

Horn and Cruise Control Not Working

Well, fuse #10 under the hood it was! I must suck at checking fuses. Thank you everyone for your input. You helped this guy out today!

Horn and Cruise Control Not Working

Thanks Dono for the specifics, and the link. Also thanks everyone for your input. I'll work on it a bit tonight and post progress tomorrow.

Horn and Cruise Control Not Working

I checked the fuses at the fuse box and under the hood. That being said, you know how fuses can be. I visually inspected them but did not test them. I think I will go ahead and replace Fuse 9 regardless of what it looks like. Thanks for the tip.

Horn and Cruise Control Not Working

Hey all, I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. The horn and cruise control are not working. At first I suspected the clock spring, but the horn doesn't work when I arm my factory alarm, or hit the panic button on the remote. Could this still be the clock spring? I would expect the horn would...

Now that its hot again, I'm having intermittent problems once again. Considering sending it back to the same guy to get it repaired again. Will chime in if/when I do.

6 months later, my radio is still going strong.

    Stinks while towing

Could be a wheel bearing on the trailer.

    1999 5.0 2wd gas mileage

Not sure how much of a difference could be made with bearing grease. Shedding extra weight could make a difference. I would consider ditching my spare tire if I had had AAA. :) Also a good 'ol fashioned tune up can help. An aftermarket intake/air filter setup can also make a difference...

    1999 5.0 2wd gas mileage

You might want to just try 36-38 just to see if you can squeeze a little more MPG. You never know, the MPG difference might buy you tires. :) Might also try nitrogen in the tires. I've no experience with it, but they tote better MPG and increased tire life.

    What's your tire pressure?

    Tires

FWIW mine did stop browning after a while, but it took a year or two. But my '66 didn't see much road time.

    Tires

Did you try Westley's Bleach White? I used to get browning on my '66 tires (Michelins) and Bleach White took care of it.

    Try some Wesley's Bleach-White.

    1999 5.0 2wd gas mileage

Yeah there's no denying they get bad mileage for what they are (a light truck). Unrelated: sounds like a pretty cool car. :)

    1999 5.0 2wd gas mileage

Same weight? Unless you had it loaded to the gills with water and big dudes, I highly doubt it. An Ex weighs in about 4,000 pounds. A 1937 Oldsmobile sedan, even with a 455, likely wouldn't tip 3,000 pounds. Edit: I'll fess up to my mistake, your Olds might have weighed as much as 3,500 lbs...

    1999 5.0 2wd gas mileage

I'm averaging about 16 MPG mixed on my 5.0 AWD Mounty thats in dire need of a tune-up.

Yes but they weighed probably 1,000 lbs. less, and didn't have the aerodynamic characteristics of a wall. :)

Using Your iPod with a MACH Audio System

No problem! One more thing I forgot to explain: the "Wired RF Modulator" and "RF Modulator" work much the same way. They both broadcast your iPod's audio through a FM frequency for your radio to pick up. However, there is one big difference: the wired modulator plugs right in to your factory...

Using Your iPod with a MACH Audio System

Thought I would put together a quick list of the various ways you can get an iPod to play through your factory MACH audio system. I get asked this a lot from my non-technical friends with iPods (I'm the resident Apple nerd). The list is ordered from best to worst (in my opinion). Note: This...

Had my repair done by Biscaynekid, so far so good. He also replaced my CD player.

Starting a 4.0L SOHC without Transmission.

Not the kind of situation people ru in to often. I can't imagine it will start without the wiring hooked up to a transmission.
